This
year, the Western Meet brings us to The Dalles, Oregon for the Cruise The
Gorge event. The 3 day event has
some fun things to do throughout the weekend including cruises, car show,
live entertainment and drag racing. In
addition, the drive through the Columbia River Gorge area is supposed to
be very nice. We have never
done drag racing at a Western Meet in the past so we thought it would be
fun to do so in 2010. You can either participate in the 1/8 mile drags or
simply be a spectator. Either way, the racing will be an enjoyable end to
a great weekend. The response for
this meet has been incredible
with an attendance expected in excess of 20 club members. It
will be a great time with or without your Monte. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding this

They
will have a car wash bay set up in the parking lot. Also, there will be
a live band at the hotel parking lot on the Friday evening for the
cruise. The hotel is right along the Friday night cruise route so we
will be in the thick of the event. |

We have held a block
of rooms at the above rates. To book a room, call the hotel and tell them you are from the FGMCC
Group (you must be a club member to book under this group rate).
Although the rooms are
being held until July 29th, I suggest you book as early as possible in
order to get the type of room you want. |
| Drag
Racing |
| As
part of the weekend events, there is drag racing at Dallesport on
Sunday. You can either participate in the drag racing or watch your
fellow club members speed down the track. |

It is recommended to arrive
Thursday evening (August 12th) and stay through Sunday if you want to take part
in all the meet activities. Club members must inform
Aaron (aaron@fgmcc.com) if you are planning
on attending the meet. This will be important for planning the activities for
the weekend.
