  1. Sometimes the word NOS is used very loosely. Yes the part may be New Old Stock but it may have been made in 1978 ,yes it is NOS but is not the exact correct one for say 1971. Most parts that were sold" over the counter" at a dealer were a lot of the times second and third runs of a part or even something that was a blem.
