  1. My '70 SS came with a replacement radiator so the tag information on the radiator is for a '77 MC. My build sheet indicated a BC code. Is that a correct code for a 454 SS w/o AC? Is that considered "standard cooling"? Was "heavy duty" cooling necessary for a 454 sans AC?? If standard, what does the code BR mean? While here, does anyone know where to pick up an exhaust manifold heat shield for the '70 454? Thanks much for any and all assistance. John
  2. Thank you. Leo is working on sending me a pic. of what he has.
  3. Does anyone have, or know where I can purchase, the exh. man. shield assembly, or parts thereof, for my '70 454? Thanks in advance to any and all! Sailor
  4. Somebody was searching for information on the stickers that were attached to the original coil springs. Seems their question was re. a '72. My 70 had the following stickers attached (and I add, buried under 221,000 miles of road grime!!). Front springs: white letters on red background: AO. The associated number is 3952806 Rear springs: black letters on yellow background: BM. The associated number is 3952828. I've had these reproduced. Hope this helps.
  5. Is there anyone/company presently rebuilding either or both of these original units? Alternatively, are kits available for doing the rebuilds? Is there a method of testing the compressor off the car to determine if it is working properly? I've been doing the "forums" search for these items but have come up with nothing so far. Thanks in advance for any assistance! Sailor
