  1. I have great memories of how well my 76 Monte floated down the road with great comfort. Is it @ all possible to replicate that smooth ride in my 71 or is/was it the improvements on the 2nd that were implemented ? Where do I start, body mounts ? I have replaced the shocks (stock) & front suspension have heavy duty springs & air bags in the rear. Appreciate any/all suggestions, & of course I don't want to break the bank...Lol Thanks
  2. How difficult is it to install this kit to keep the doors open ? Stupid expense to purchase but has to be done. Any advice greatly appreciated.
  3. I think I know the answer to this however, I thought I'd put it out there. I've heard Legendary is a superior product, but costly compared to PUI. Looking for feedback on PUI in regards to quality. It seems everywhere I turn for info I here....."go with Legendary." Bottom line,I'm looking to save a few bucks. Is the American Industries Foam the best as well. (not sure if that's the correct name.) Are these the only options out there or am I missing an option or two ? Appreciate any advice.
  4. Appreciate both responses, I have the correct buckets, however, they need to be recovered/restored which was I was planning to do. I then saw the TMI pre-assembled & thought they looked as close to the original as I've seen & for the price, I probably should consider the option. If I have mine redone, realistically it probably would be between $1500-1800. Wanted to get some feedback to make the best decision. The seat pattern was the same for the Chevelle & Monte, there really wasn't Monte option, pretty sure my buckets were from a Chevelle. Thanks again for the feedback.
  5. Crickets..................................
  6. Ground-up currently has TMI pre-assembled buckets for 30% off. You have to purchase the bracket to which isn't cheap Designed for the Chevelle they should work in the 70-72 Monte as well . Anyone out there have a set of these ?? No reviews available on the site.
  7. So, I don't even have to change the carrier if I'm not going with posi ? Any brand suggestions ? Maybe Yukon ? Thanks Sam, I think I'll go will go with the 3.42.
  8. OK, have a 71 with stock 2.73-non-posi I believe. Want to upgrade to 3.42 or maybe 3.55. Upgraded with top end-kit & now want to turn it up a notch with the gear change. Nothing crazy just want a good balance for street/highway cruising, without a huge budget. Local transmission joint says it does this type of work. So,is it simply a matter of changing the carrier from a 2 - 3 series along with the gears themselves ,or is there more to it than that ? All advice is much appreciated !
  9. Thanks Rock, I'll give it a try. I'll the result.
  10. Appreciate the feedback all. Will check that the yellow wire is properly connected to the battery. How do I check the polarity ?? I've heard the term before associated with amplifiers, but not with radio output, but makes sense, as an amplifier is filtering sound for output. Is it associated in any way with the 4- channel thing I mentioned ?
  11. Have an Panasonic radio that is is giving me issue(s): First issue is, it won't retain pre-programmed stations for longer than 10 minutes after shut-off. Secondly, on certain songs, depending on how they were recorded, (4-channel)?? I loose the "lead" guitar or solo. completely,or it has significantly lower volume. Anybody encounter either issue ? Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
  12. Found bucket seats for my 71, I think they will fit however, does anyone definitively know if they will ??
  13. Wonder if that holds true with bucket seats ? If so, I'll pay for the convenience, probably should just inquire @ the website. Ed
  14. Bruce, I'm looking @ the the 3-point as the shoulder strap is exactly the upgrade I want as well. I have a shoulder strap, however no buckle end to fit. With that said, I was told I'll have to drill for the shoulder & waist. I was hoping I wouldn't need to, but it's a 3-point conversion kit, just thought it being a specialized belt for the 70-75 Monte, would be able to utilize existing holes. Appreciate all the feedback. Leaning towards the Morris......I think.
