  1. It has been a long time since I posted. Been doing great. Lots of shows. Lots of trophies. Just thought I tell you guys and gals if your in Houston between Jan. 27 - 31. My 71 will be on display at the NRG Center next to the old Astrodome. I thought it was a great honor since I completed it in 2008. She is holding up pretty well for a driveway restoration.
  2. I've got a Original trailer hitch that actually came on the car from the dealer I bought about 7 years ago. I bolts to the trunk pan and the bumper, I think. I haven't looked at it in years. Do not know what it's rated though. I don't need it so it's available. Drop me a message.
  3. I still got a Glass Tech 4" cowl hood I'm not using.
  4. Yep, spent the money and save the time. There was 2 years between my disassembly and restoration. So things got misplaced, or looked too old to put against new parts bought. It's hard to put something old next to something new. With that thought, that's how your restoration cost goes up past your budget.
  5. I used AMK for my restoration. All the hardware came in its own individual packages labeled with what page of the assembly manual it pertains to. Neat organized sets, but you do pay for that service. I was happy with them, and I did have some hardware left over, but finished the car.
  6. I can verify that Texas hot air dryer feeling. With AC, it's still Hot.
  7. Thank you so much for these pics. I felt like I was there. What a great looking group of peeps. 20 hours to Norwalk, Hmmmmm, I think my Monte just might make that trip next year. Maybe I could compete for long distance award. Again, great pics, and beautiful Montes all around from everyone that attended. Danny
  8. That last pic from the ground should be a poster. Sweet Montes all around. Thanks guys. Danny
  9. Man, I wish I could have been there. I would have been a shoe in for best 71. Love the pics. I have already been talking to the wife about making one of these meets next year. I will have to decide whether to go 1100 or 1500 miles. With all the great pics and descriptions of these meets, sounds like tons of fun. Danny
  10. Wow, what great pics. I'd love to see that in Texas. Thanks for the pictures. It makes me think about a loooong distance trip. That's for sure. Maybe I will have to give some more serious thought about next year. I will have to think about which is closer to me, East or West.
  11. I replaced my heater core about a year before I dismantled the car for resto. When I recently was putting my heater box back in the car, I knew to just spend the 25.00 for a new one just because it is such a bear to change out, especially when all the rest of the interior is in. Naturally putting the box back in with a bare firewall and no dash is the optimal way to do this. So good luck, and take your time. Labor intensive, but not technically hard.
  12. EUREKA, I FOUND IT. In the 72 assembly manuel it is page (sec 8ZZ sheet 2) in the FUEL, TANK, AND EXHAUST SECTION. I opened my manuel straight to it. I guess I must have looked at that page a time or two. The measurements listed are 1.25" below edge of bumper and 1.04" horizonally out from edge.Hope this helps.
  13. I can't remember for sure, but in the assembly manuel there is a page that shows this dimension. I belive it is approximatly an 1 1/4" below bumper edge and 1" beyond horizonally. Hope this helps. I will be looking again soon as my tips are about to go on also.
  14. Oh yea, I was happy. It had 1 little mark in it, but it stated that in the ad. To have such a white car, I'm really not a perfectionist. I can let some things slide here and there for the sake of the whole.
