  1. I have a suggestion on the shipping. Cut a piece of 1/4 inch plywood to fit into the box snugly and strap the compressor to the plywood with plumbers tape ( after bubble wrapping). This should keep it from moving around in the box during shipping. Hope this was useful, Paul
  2. I swaped out the old Q-Jet for a newer style with electric choke. The other hose attaches to the fuel bowl vent. My old carb did not have it so I spliced it tinto the tank vent hose, not sure it is correct but seems to be working fine. SANY0254
  3. A little late but, I finnaly figured out how to post pics! My '71 also had the fuel smell problem. I knew the hoses were old and in need of replacing so in addition to replacing the hoses I thought I would replace the canister filter too. Hopefully this will help someone. Canister out and turned upside down with old filter: SANY0242 New filter: SANY0245 The old filter just pulls out. I was surprised there is no screen to hold the carbon in place.. SANY0246 Install new filter: SANY0248 Reinstall carbon canister: SANY0253 install hoses and done.
  4. If you are looking for the replaceable filter that goes in the bottom of the canister O'Reilly sells them for about $2.50. LIN#KY
  5. A little off topic Bruce, but I turned 4 on 5/16/1971. Paul
