  1. Thanks for the replies. I looked at cutting down the brackets and welding studs in, but that would only gain about 1 inch... I need at least 4 inches. Jared... thanks for the offer. any idea what shipping 2 buckets to central MN would cost? I found a couple of OEM sets....both in Indiana, which may work out because I'm originally from there and heading back for a wedding next month. They were in really rough shape.. and asking $450 for the pair. WAY better than OPGI at around $2200. But as I stated before, I will have to reupholster them anyway to match the car, so I'm OK with bad covers and foam... just need to have solid frame and springs.
  2. I need your guys help. The bench to buckets/console conversion is nearly completed. New motor is in, 2004R is in, console, shifter and linkage is completed, etc... Last step is seats and carpet. My plan was to use swivel buckets from a 74 I picked up a couple years ago. They are too tall, and I've kicked a lot of ideas around, but I don't think any of them are going to work. So.. I need help on where to get a set, or what aftermarket ones will work. Whatever I get will need to be reupholstered to match the custom interior of the car. All suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.
  3. Thanks Dan - I ordered it yesterday -- much appreciated,
  4. Thanks for your help! I searched NPD and found the following ( IN STOCK TOO!! ) https://www.npdlink.com/product/harness-console-extension-oe-style-repro/113278/7304?year=1970 is the what I need to get?
  5. Need some help - doing bench to buckets conversion on my 70... steering column shifter to console. New shifter is in place. For the console, I need a jumper harness, and I searched Luttys - found this part number: CH85108 -- here's the link: https://www.luttyschevy.com/i-20838111-console-harness-ch85108.html#!year%3D1970%7C%7Cmake%3DCHEVROLET%7C%7Cmodel%3DMONTE%20CARLO Is this what I need to go between the column and the console??
  6. I ordered the shifter and conversion kit from ShiftWorks today -- and I also ordered the TV cable from bowtie overdrives -- both should arrive early next week. Thanks for the help, it was much appreciated!
  7. Thanks! I also found this one - I'm going to print it out and take a closer look. Let me know what you think. http://macc.chevelles.net/console_install.pdf
  8. Thanks Leghome for the rely -- I see you're not too far from where I was born and raised (Kokomo) . If you have any links to the products mentioned above, please provide.
  9. Thanks for the add to the club. I have a 1970 that I'm replacing the TH350 with a rebuilt 2004R out of a 1987 Grand National. My plan is also to go with 3:73 rear gears and a limited slip carrier My question is are there any recommendations for the horseshoe shifter and cable? This car is also going thru a bench to buckets conversion (I have an open thread in the Interior forum). I have a console I want to install, but with the overdrive, I need some advice on shifter and cable that will work with the console.
  10. Hi - and thanks for adding me to the club. I have a 1970 - originally a bench car, but I am changing over to buckets. The interior of the car is currently down to the floor. My question is does anyone have the .pdf that shows how to install the console. I *think* it was an old article for a chevelle. It shows step-by-step where to put the hole in the floor for the shifter cable, where to mount everything. Much appreciated!
