I also run 32 on 4 corners. On a side note when I "raced" at the track and I was doing it with my "street" tires I raised the fronts to the max that is written on the sidewall. The rears I kept the same at 32.

I put my Monte on Nationwide Insurance back in 1983. Car was not a classic at that point. When I was able to I finally had it changed to a "stated value". That went on for many years, my agent eventually died and a new agent took over. I have many vehicles insured and did not catch it but at one point my Monte changed over to "Blue Book" value. No on at Nationwide could explain why. Luckily no accidents have happened. Anyways I switched my Monte and my Corvette to American Modern classic car insurance. I went with a stated value again (and will monitor regularly). I can't really give an opinion on them because I have not had to put a claim in...which is good.

I park it. I disconnect battery...done.

If you have measured your wheels properly and those are correct measurements then you have a wheel that will be sticking outward further than normal. All depends on how tall a tire you want and how wide. A taller and wider tire on that rim will most likely hit the wheel lip.

With the expected snow coming I finally put those orange markers down the edge of my driveway, normally I would have installed them back in December but we have not gotten any significant amount of snow yet. Girlfriend has a hard enough time in the summertime staying off the grass, figured better to be safe than sorry, lol.

Those hooks would have to be flipped the opposite direction (which it looks like they could) before you insert it. I have a pair of spring compressors I have used a while back. I haven't looked at mine in years but I remember them being a lot more heavy duty than those in the picture. They do work but are scary to use.

I am on the far right.

The only real tradition we do is go to my younger sister's house where my brother in law cooks all the main food and we bring the rest. Been doing this for a long time, most of the people in the photo I have known for over 40 years.

My original 402 had some simple mods that woke it up which included a 750 Holley, dual plane aluminum intake, headers, electronic ignition, hotter cam (I do not remember the specs), and the heads milled for a bit more compression. It ran pretty good, went from a stock high 15 second quarter mile to high 13 second quarter mile times. Eventually I put a 502 in it and cut off another 2 seconds in the quarter.

Not a bad looking hood scoop on this 72

I understand the use for the side ports (although not the best looking) is to get rid of the underhood heat from that setup. Definitely different and I think it looks good. -
I too went with poly motor mounts as well as a poly trans mount with the swap.

Are you sure? Mine came with an aluminum short pump and I used my stock long pump from my 402, it is heavy and I was gonna change it out but never did. I can't remember exactly but I think it was the zz502 short pump's pulley would not work with the original configuration.

I replaced my 402 with the zz502 and used a 2" drop base with a 4" filter and it cleared the stock hood. I have since replaced my stock hood with a 4" cowel and use a 6" filter in that same 2" drop base.

Booked my room today. Will be registering my car shortly.

Interesting. I would definitely look it over at a car show but that is about it.

What did you do to your Monte Carlo today?

Yep, bolted to the floor then remove it and put it in a corner. Bubble balancer works pretty good, took it for a ride and it was smooth. -

Replaced my old front BfGoodrich tires with some Cooper Cobras. Nothing like the satisfaction of mounting and balancing them yourself. -

Not Monte related but a question anyway
502ci replied to willie's topic in General 70-72 Monte Carlo Forum
I do not have an answer for you but coincidentally yesterday I picked up my Dad's 87 Grand National wheels and he and I went to Summit Racing and got tires. I spent last night removing the old tires from the stock wheels and will put the new tires on today. He has decided to go back to an original look and will remove his Centerline wheels. The point of my story is that I was examining the chrome on them and was happy that they only needed cleaned up. Looks to be a bit of a tricky rechrome if it had to be redone.
