  1. You guys on this site are really awesome! Whenever I need to find out about something or need some info or opinions, there's always someone out there doing the same thing. You helped me decide to go with rear disc brakes. Thanks. Bill
  2. Just bought the bmr upper and lower control arms with springs. Won't be installing them for a few months cause I'm looking at the front brakes and if I'm going to put in all those new things, id better save up and do the brakes too. Boy was that a tough choice but I'm picking them up in tampa next month when I'm out that way, saves 75 on shipping.
  3. There is definately a lot of things to consider. I love the look that all the new items will have, but I'm afraid of being one of the few guys to actually have a problem with the less expensive stuff. That site had a lot of good info. Still can't decide.
  4. That looks awesome. I have seen those a arms on ebay but was scared to get them. Did you notice a difference in handling right away cause that's what my car needs. What springs, shocks and rotors did you go with. Because with the money savings I could do the whole thing. Thanks for the pics.
  5. Hi guys, i'm thinking about getting into a front end upgrade and was looking for any opinions. I like to go with new upper and lower tubular control arms. I like the BMR setup. Has anyone done this upgrade and what did you go with and why. Thanks guys, I always get great advice from all of you. Bill
  6. That is tooooo cool!!!! Wish I could have been there.... you ll easily be in the 11s! Next time I'll be there. Bill
  7. Man you just made my day, I finally have the monte running well and I saw that pan The tranny hasn't been slipping and shifts great. Thanks for the encouraging words Bones I've always neglected the transmissions in all my cars. I've had that leak for years. Bill
  8. Hey guys, I been playing around with a few things lately and have discovered a lot of gray, thick sludge in the bottom of my transmission pan. The fluid is still pink. I took it off to change a leak from the pan and was wondering what that means. Tranny going soon? Nothing to worry about just change the filter? HA HA HA. Seriously, any ideas? Thanks, bill
  9. Hey Rick, item # 200190299914. This is the one I put it in, fits perfectly. Car runs 170-180 on the highway and 190 on street. Looks good too. Good luck, Bill
  10. Wow, at least I'm not the only guy that has happened to. I had just ordered a new aluminum radiator 3 weeks ago, 31x19" and had the same problem. I sent it back and ordered one off ebay from the guy in California. Hopefully it will be right, 34"x18 1/2". Good luck. Bill
  11. Hey justin, I have 4.11 in my 70 monte. Changed it from a 2.73, what a big difference. Even without overdrive I love cruising it on the highway. With the right tires you'll feel the front lift whenever you punch it.
  12. No problem David, that kit comes with a control relay where it is wired coming on and off at certain temps also with the manual override.(you do have to purchase a switch). My car has both. There is also a 30second delay for the fans to come on at 60 percent power then 100 percent power at 175-180. Easy to install, just be careful where you put the old fan shroud after you pull it out of the car..... my wife ran over it in the garage, pulling in. Said she didnt see it totally destroyed it! Bill
  13. Hey David , I did get the flex-a-lite dual electric fan set-up. I have a stock 4 core radiator with a 454 and it is just a bit taller than the actual radiator, hangs down about 1" past the radiator; theres also about 1/2" on either side of fins not covered. It definitely covers more area than the original set up. The stock big block fan shroud does not cover the finned area of the radiator. I will say I am pretty happy with it. I did have to mount the new shroud with zip-ties to the frame to get it to cover all of the finned radiator, but not difficult. I got it from jegs p/n 400-295. p/n from summit is flx-295. Good luck david Any q's dont hesitate to ask. Bill
  14. Thanks guys, thats an excellent article, great info. My trans temp runs mostly 180-190; on the highway about 200. I recently added a temp gauge for the tranny....one more thing to watch and wonder about.... Thanks .
  15. Hey guys, just a quik question if anyone can give an answer. What is the range for the operating temperature for a T400 transmisson? I'm just trying to iron out some kinks and optimize performance for my car. Thanks guys. Bill
