  1. I know the builder of this car personally. I cannot begin to tell you the amount of years that went into that car. He was one of the BEST body guys in the Boston Area. Good guy too. I am a purist and love factory but words cannot describe how beautiful this car was in person. The paint was absolutely perfect. No seams at all on the car. The scary part about this is that he built it in the late 80's.
  2. KC, The trunk floor closest to the lockside of the trunk door is gone. That flat space where the bumper is recessed into the back of the car. It is in the flooring of the trunk. Thanks, Greg
  3. Thanks for all the feedback. I actually did go with the Eastwood Argent Silver on the front and Satin Black for the back. I also purchased the Diamond Clear. I figure if I am not happy with the Diamond Clear, I will media blast again and start from scratch.... The spare is done. 4 more to go. Thanks again everyone! Greg
  4. Thanks KC. I have a feeling that I will go with the three piece units and use what I need. I really need the piece that goes toward the rear valance panel in addition the pieces near the wheel wells. I need to drop the tank and clean everything up to get a really good assessment as to how bad the damage is. Time to grind... Did you do the work yourself? What are you using for a welder? I am looking at the Lincoln Weld Pak 125. Thanks! Greg
  5. I knew that the car needed some trunk patchwork. I checked to see how bad it is today and I want to fix it properly with new sheetmetal rather than a patch job. The rot goes to the rear wheel wells and toward the back bumper. Should I replace the wheel wells while it is apart? The car has new quarters already installed so, removing those is not desired. Any recommendations on which kit to go with? I see there are 3 piece sets and one piece units also. The prices also vary quite a bit... Thanks in advance! Greg
  6. I just media blasted my 15 x 7 spare Rally Wheel. No idea why because my car needs a TON of prep work, but I just primed the wheel and am about to spray it with the argent silver. I am wet sanding the surface also. Is the correct color of the back side of the wheel also Argent Silver or Black? Thanks! Greg
  7. Thanks again... Found a few cheapy HVLP guns at a Eastwood and at Summit Racing. These will be perfect for painting brackets and rust inhibitor on the floors. I did not want to use a really good one (final coat type) for these types of applications but want some quality on the engine accessories (pulleys, brackets, radiator support, etc). Thanks everyone! Photos of progress to follow. Greg
  8. Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Spring Forward! Greg
  9. I am in the process of pulling motor accessory brackets, pulleys, etc. off to sandblast in preparation to paint. I am very likely going to use the Eastwood Underhood black. I do not want to use a good finish spray gun for this job. Has anyone used a cheapy Sears or Husky type spray gun to get decent results? Aerosol Can? Thanks in advance, Greg
  10. Tony, I bought a set of these from David's Rally Wheels. http://home.comcast.net/~gdevenne/newparts.html They are extremely close to the original rings. They have different clipping mechanisms and are thinner materials (alot more flex than the original) You cannot beat the price. Check Ebay Item number: 180137790762 Greg
  11. Rich, Thanks for looking that up. Much appreciated.
  12. I just noticed that the 3958390 and 3958389 parts that I have in the basement look rounder for the 1970. Are these for a different year too? What year are the 3982447 and 3982446 bezels for? Thanks, Greg
  13. I have come across two head light bezels. The part numbers are: 3982447 3982446 They look a bit more squared off. Are they for the 1971 MC and/or 1972? I have a 1970 that I am restoring and do not want to buy them if they are incorrect. Thanks in advance. Greg
