  1. I'm not seeing how I can move it far enough. I'll have to look at it again tomorrow when I'm in a little better mood.
  2. I put headers on my 454 and put the oil dip stick tube back on and noticed that there's not way to get the spark plug in. What have you guys done to get around this?
  3. The fender wells fit really well. I found out the the support isn't there on the steel ones. That's why it wouldn't fit. So I'm all good to go.
  4. I replaced my broken plastic inner fenders with steel ones and now I can't get my battery tray and support to line back up. I can line up the tray where it needs to be, but the support doesn't even come close to lining up. If I loosely bolt the support on I can get it in the right place, but the tray won't line up. What am I doing wrong?
  5. Yep it's an AC car. The blower has the purple wire and suppressor on it. So the orange wire is for non-AC cars? If so, I'm going to remove it completely from the harness.
  6. Guys, The wiring under the hood is a mess. I've got a good wiring harness to put in it though. Here's were I need help. The only wire that's cut on the harness I'm putting in is also cut on the one in the car. It's in the same bundle that the distributor, wiper motor, starter, and the oil sending unit. It's orange. According to the wiring diagram I have it shows that wire going to the blower motor, but doesn't show me were it connects. The blower circuit is completely different, it has other wires that connect to it. Plus, I don't see any place to attach it the orange one. The car ran fine and the blower works as it should with that orange wire not attached to anything. Anyone got a clue what it's for and where it goes?
  7. hhmmm I guess that I might as well replace the heads before spending money on a manifold then.
  8. Will an oval port intake fit peanut port heads?
  9. Can I got one of you to post a picture or two of how the kick down cable on a turbo 350 mounts to the engine and discribe how it routes from the trans please.
  10. What has 2 thumbs and called out the carb? This guy! haha Glad you've got it figured out. As far as what to do next, I've done both, rebuilt them and used a reman. Rebuild kits are a lot cheaper than buying a new carb. I'd probably go that route.
  11. Is it a stumble or is it backfiring? It's a big difference. With a stumble I'd say it was the Q-jet, if it's a backfire I'm still going with timing/ignition issue. If it sat for awhile since the last time you started it, there's a chance that the carb gummed up. That would cause a stumble, it may run rich or lean, all kinds of things.
  12. That gasket should work, but I've always used the four hole style. It you sprayed around the base of the carb while it was running and it didn't suck it in, then the gasket was ok. If you've got the four hole gasket already, give it a try. Couldn't hurt.
