  1. My 72 Monte Carlo 468 Big Block, M22 Four Speed won Outstanding Modified Award at 2014 Super Chevy Show at Rockingham NC. Here is a short video clip.
  2. I just purchased another M-22 Muncie for $200. I purchased it just for the main casing because mine has a hairline crack in it with one of the ears missing. The transmission that I just purchased looks good other than a couple of gears being stripped out. The casting # on it is 3885010. The patent # is 3088336. It has P7H09 on it also and it has the large shaft.
  3. Hey guys, I looked on the side of my transmission and the casting # is 3925661, it also has P3T12 on it. The patent # is 3088336. I didn't see an A, B, or C beside the P3T12. Can anyone tell me which Muncie this is?
  4. Thanks a lot guys,he had both heater hoses going into the water pump and none going into the intake.
  5. Hey guys, do I use the same brake booster and master cylinder with my big block that I used with my small block? My problem is, I am using the tall style valve covers on my big block and there is no clearance between the valve covers and the brake booster. If I ever decide to change valve covers, I will probably have to remove the brake booster. Do you big block guys use a smaller brake booster?
  6. Hey guys, On the small block that was in there one heater hose went to the intake and the other heater hose went to the water pump. On the big block both hoses are going to the water pump. shouldn't one hose go to the water pump and one hose go to the intake. If so, what do I do with the other outlet on the water pump? The small block water pump only had one outlet but the big block water pump has two. Can someone post some pics showing me how to rout these hoses. Thanks
  7. Hey guys, now that I got my big block in I don't have any heat on the inside of my car. I am running a new aluminum radiator with a Cyclone electric fan. The radiator / fan combo keeps the engine really cool. The temp doesn't go above 160 degrees. I am using a 160 degree thermostat. Could the reason I don't have any heat on the inside be because the engine is running so cool at only 160 degrees?
  8. Hey guys, I finally got my 468 big block installed after about four years. I think it was worth the wait. It is a 10.5:1 compression 60 over 454 with oval port heads with big valves, a Lunati 60204 Voodoo cam, RPM Air-Gap intake, Noisy gear drive, 3 inch exhaust, Super T-10 4 speed with a Ram Competition clutch and pressure plate, 3:55 rear end. On the Dyno it put out 514 horsepower and 593 lbs of torque.
  9. Thanks for the advise guys, I ordered one from JEGS. Brought my car home today after the engine swap.
  10. I will try the JEGS starter that you recommended. http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/10081/10002/-1?parentProductId=751066
  11. Tried the one you posted but the holes don't line up. http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Catalo...5139_0066614923
  12. Hey guys,I have another Problem with my engine swap, The old high torque starter that was on my small block is too big. My mechanic put a regular stater on but it lived a short life (like one day). I went to NAPA Auto Parts and told the salesman at the counter that a needed a high torque mini starter for a 72 Monte Carlo with a 454 big block. He sold me a high torque mini starter (straight bolt pattern) but it does not fit. Should I have specified that my car is a four speed and that it has headers? Exactly what type of mini starter should I ask for?
  13. I just ran into a good deal on a Muncie Transmission. The guy said that it was an M22. How can I tell if it is an M22? I am currently running a Super T10 but it has a hairline crack in it.
  14. I found another 454 block for $375. Gonna make sure they pressure test this one first. Still cant believe they didn't pressure test the other one. I will keep you guys posted.
  15. Hello FGMCC, After a couple of years I finally finished my 60 over 454. The guys at the machine shop hooked it up to the dyno, fired it up and discovered that the block had a crack in it near the bottom just below where the cam goes. Now I am on the hunt for a 454 block so that we can get back on course. I have checked with a few local drag racers and the ones who have 454 blocks are not willing to part with them. I have checked a few salvage yards but have not had any luck yet.May have to go to the Jegs or Summit book. Any suggestions guys?
