  1. Nice pics Rob, and there are 2 green ones in there! Sweet, way to represent! Mike
  2. Can you fit a 90 deg in there? Go to (www.transmissioncenter.net) they have them there. Mike
  3. I purchased SEM Universal Color Coat Dark Midnight Green Metallic (p/n: C-VP5084). I have a 70 dark green interior and I couldn't tell a difference when I painted my kick panels & touched up some other interior items. There are a few distributors and I think I bought mine from Eastwood. Mike
  4. Unbelievable! Last month was my last magazine, I didn't get around to renewing my subscription! Guess I'm heading out to find this one on the shelf. Mike
  5. Just went through this for my 70 remote mirror. Ordered a few from a few places that listed them for a 70 Monte and none fit correctly. They were for a Chevelle apparently. Most people here will tell you they don't reproduce them. I went ahead and took mine completely apart and had it 're-chromed. Cost me about $120 and I was very pleased with the results. If you are not sure how to take it all apart, just drop me a PM and I can walk you through it. Mike
  6. Hey Mike, wouldn't a gear vendors kind of defeat the purpose at the track because they weigh so much? They can take a pounding but wouldn't you just rather have a tranny that can handle the HP and have overdrive? Mike
  7. Though I went with steel ones, I installed mine with my fenders in place no problem. As mentioned in other threads about this project, I did have to make a few of the bolt holes larger for them to fit properly. I thought it was an easy job as long as you give yourself plenty of time and patience. Mike
  8. Go to BulletCams.com and talk to them. They will help you figure out exactly what you are trying to achieve with the motor and grind one out for you at a reasonable price. Mike
  9. Very nice Dennis, and as always, nice of you to share the knowledge!
  10. Lots of good ones out there. Personally, I put a TCI Rattler on my 496 and am real happy with it. Some people might consider it a negative, though I don't, is that when you shut off the engine the last thing you hear are the weight balls dropping. I think it sounds pretty cool and it doesn't bother me one bit. Look it up and compare with some of the other big name brands out there such as Fluid Damper. As long as it has proven performance, it's all personal preference IMO. Mike
  11. Way to go Dennis! But, you are keeping us in suspense. Can you tell us what you paid or would you rather keep it to yourself? I too have a set of your brackets and yes, they are sweet! Also, I know of that place but aren't they closed certain times of the year like mostly through the winter months or something? Mike
  12. A good machinist could fill it and make sure it is back to spec for you. But, IMO, to upgrade the axles isn't all that expensive and you would have all new steel, not 45 year old stuff. Mike
  13. Looks great Larry, can't wait to see the doors!
