  1. I'm replacing my shocks with these sense-tracs and have a quick question. What size bolts do I need for the shock end that mounts to the lower control arm. Thanks
  2. I haven't posted in several months. Feels good to be back. I also haven't been a very kind Monte owner. It used to be my daily driver in (purchased 2001) 2001-2003. Then weekend cruiser until 2007. And since then it's "seasonally" driven. Long story short, it needs a makeover. I wont be doing the work myself, but I'd like to know how to approach a shop about doing the work in a way that we're clear about what I want, how they're going to do the work, and the price. Does anybody have a worksheet or checklist or something you can share with me about coming to a service agreement? Something you've used before handing a shop the keys to your car. I know what I want the final result to be, but I need to clarify the if this/then that steps. When they can proceed with the work, and when they need to call me first. This can be a $3k job or a $10k job if the expectations aren't clear. Thanks
  3. i have a 72 350 ci with the stock 2 barrel. I'm switching it out for a rochester qjet (from a chevelle hahaha). i know from the factory the compression for a 2brrl and a 4brrl are different on the MCs. Will switching to a bigger carb get me the factory stated 300hp or will the compression difference water that down?
  4. Does it really add to HP? And, what about moisture... arent you at risk of sucking up rain, puddles, etc

    TH350?

If the 200 and the 700 are both 4 spd autos, then what is the big different between them? I sounds like the 200 is a direct 350 replacement and the 700 requires fabrication and a new driveshaft. Mike

    TH350?

I know the 200s were standard in the 80s montes/buicks, but what about the 700? What engine/car did that typically serve from the factory?
  7. dont stop there, put the superbird spoiler on.... that'd be eye catching
  8. When my cross member needed to be replaced, i was told that the cross memeber for the 80s full sized ford crown vic/mercury grand marquis will fit your montes with some modification plus they're shaped for duel exhaust. any car yard will have a million of these cars. while at the junkyard i found a first gen monte with a perfect crossmemeber (AZ car) so i never tested this theory.
  9. For those who are in states where you have to pump your own gas, be very careful. static sparks have been known to ignite gas fumes at the pump
  10. Does anyone know where I could get new rubber inserts for bumperettes?
  11. I think only non-AC cars came with the panels.
  12. I have a similar setup. I have my cd player mounted under ash tray. if i needed to take it out, i would just slide the cd player out, take off the mounting clips (2 small screws hold it on) and tuck the wires. you said you have vents in your kick panels, just like i do. try this - i was able to fit a 5 1/4 inch speaking inside each vent. i just popped off the vent cover, put the speaker inside (gotta keep the lower vent closed) and put the vent cover back on - and just like that i have invisible speakers with no cutting or modifications. i haev 6X9s in the rear. hidden under the package tray.
  13. I put a pair of 6x9s in the rear and they work fine. You can get speakers in their own enclosure and have them mounted on top of your package tray, so you dont have to cut up the car. If you want to cut up the car. you can mount them in the doors. the kick panels. or under the dash. or on top of the dash (works well for tweeters).
  14. To be street legal those lights have to be amber/yellow. The lenses are clear, so the bulbs have to be amber/yellow
  15. so what if the tranny is the non-lockup type?
