72-CLASSIC_RIDE
Hey guys, I have a question when changing to OEM Factory Cruise Control. I am getting prepared to make this OEM modification on my 72. I know the brake light switch needs changed for Cruise but don't know if the bracket that holds brake light switch is inter-changeable? Can anyone confirm if there is a difference for the bracket? Once again, your help / guidance is invaluable. All have a GREAT day.............. stangeba
I don't remember for sure but I think it fit OK but there is a vacuum dump switch also on mine. I'll look for a picture or take one. Bruce
72-CLASSIC_RIDE
Thanks Bruce. I searched the 72 Assembly Manual and didn't see a vacuum dump switch. I had a feeling it was incorporated into the Cruise Control Brake Switch. Not certain of this, thus my question. Much appreciated, Doug
stangeba
And I don't know for sure what my kit was off of and I have a 71. 25 years is a long time! Bruce
72-CLASSIC_RIDE
Okay! Found what I was looking for. The Vacuum Dump Switch has a factory predrilled 2nd location in the bracket that is right above Brake Switch Sensor. Now that I have solved that mystery, I am going to have to review the Carb Linkage where Servo Cable would attach. As Carb is an Edelbrock 4 bbl., it may not have the linkage set up for attaching Servo Cable. News at 11:00. Doug
