bustoff Posted November 13, 2015 Share Posted November 13, 2015 I installed a 468 with a 3000 stall conv now my trans is shifting soft my question is does the 3000 stall converter change the way it shifts ? Jared Richey Posted November 15, 2015 Share Posted November 15, 2015 Funny how a stall works, my 300 hp bone stock 70 monte carlo feels more powerful on light to medium takeoffs than my 600 hp 4:11 geared hot rod 72 monte with 3500 stall. Higher stall means increased slippage (the trans shifts just as quick as before but the high stall takes out the harshness) and it also reduces the engine braking effect. On the freeway off-ramp mine used to slow down pretty quick by just lifting off of the pedal... now it feels almost like it's in neutral.
