rpoz20
I'm the lucky owner of a 1971. Cottonwood Green with a Jade Green interior. From looking at the production numbers on the "Technical Information" page, it would appear that many people on this site believe only 147 1971 SS454's were produced. Does this seem right? And who else has one that's floating around here?
Canuck
That is correct, only 147 1971 SS454s were built in Canada. I had one with 105,000 miles but sold it to another member last Month. It had the Z20 code on the body tag I also had the Information package that GM Canada offers.

BigdaddyT
Envious of the Canadian documentation, wish all SS cars were cowl tagged with Z20. Gotta be nice to say "look here"
Canuck
When I first found the red 71 SS, it was nice to confirm it to be legitimate without a build sheet.

Agreed, especially since I knew the build sheet was toast... The grass growing up through the hole beneath the rear window pretty much guaranteed that..,. Canuck
The Canadian cars did not have an 8.5x11 build sheet like the US built cars. The sheet in a Canadian built cars was a small strip of paper with the VIN and just the 3 digit RPO codes with no descriptions.

LS5
There are 3 over here in the Calgary Alberta area, including mine built in Oshawa. Out of the 147 Canadian Built not all of them were sold in Canada, GM made some in Oshawa that were built here and shipped stateside as export sales. Those USA sold canadian cars still have the availibility of GM Documentation. I found 2 of what Aaron referred to as Line Sheets or Line Orders, 1 was under my Drivers side bucket seat and the second Line Sheet was under the console that was bolted to the floor as well as having the GM documentation from Oshawa and the original Bill of Sale from Saskatoon Motor Products in 1971 and then the owner moved to Orangeville Ont in 1972 where it lived until I bought it last summer (2015). rpoz20
Cool. Mine was built in Oshawa as well around the middle of April. As far as I can tell, the original owner was a gentleman in Massachusetts who lived in the same town I grew up in. When I rescued it from the field, it still had a crumblin inspection sticker from 1976 on the windshield. Before that, it must have been driven pretty regularly, as it had about 76K miles. My wife is getting me the Canadian documentation package for Christmas, so hopefully I'll be able to get a bit more info on her.

Vaughn
I know of two here. A triple Black and a triple Blue, the triple Blue is a one owner. Both fully documented but neither have the Z20 option on the cowl tag. Interesting
rpoz20
Thats strange.... I wonder if western Canada actually imported theirs from a western US plant?
Vaughn
No both these cars where built in Oshawa
LS5
Mine shows the Z20 on the Cowl Tag... That is Bizzare Vaughn for sure, and I know both of yours are from Oshawa as well. Darren
