TH350 mated to a 454

Greetings Y'all!

I finally found a transmission, and now to rebuild it.  I'm more of an engine person, so looking at all the different rebuild kits for an automatic tranny is a little overwhelming.

The TH350 is being mated to a built 454.  I won't be racing on the strip, just maybe some old-fashioned hot rodding around town once in a while, but I know I will have to beef up the 350 to stand up to the motor.  I also plan on installing a TransGo shift kit, but what would be a suitable rebuild kit?

I've been looking at Summit and Jeg's and just really don't know what I would need.  Any input would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I wish I had smarts in this area.

I to am running a TH350 behind a stock '93 Gen V Big Block. I have only installed a B&M shift kit into the trans. I plan on installing some Nice aluminum Heads and Cam into the motor.

ditch the TH350 and pony up to a 200 4R and have an overdrive

Well, I just picked up the 350 last weekend.  I've ran them before in the past and have always had great luck with them, but they have always been behind a SB350, so just didn't really know what kit to go with for the rebuild on the tranny.

I rebuilt a TH350 and mated it to a mild 402BBC in my El Camino.  I used the Hughes Performance rebuild kit and valve body.  Worked fine for the short time I had it before selling the vehicle. - Dave

We had built one for a '72 Nova with a 427 Big Block,12bolt post with 4:10 gears and 31" tall tires. It was a street car(no long trips) and used a lot at the dragstrip. ran low 12's in the 1/4 mile. best was a 11.89 in florida. 1st gear was the ticket for that set-up.A good rebuild kit, shift kit and a good 2,200 stall should do it good.
