o_rod
Well this is driving me crazy, and it's such a small thing... My engine has now swallowed 5 e-clips that hold on the distributor center weight, and of course no one and I mean NO ONE supplies these damn things. Does anyone happen to know the size of them? Such a stupid thing to ask, but man I have no luck with them...
wallaby
My local chain parts supplier has these in a package of different sizes. Sure you have to buy 10 to get the one you want, but they are cheap. I think Home Depot has them too, if you are willing to dig through all the drawers where they keep the plastic washers and such in the hardware isle. The real question is why they keep falling out. A bad groove in the stud? a worn out weight that rattles around? I've never had one come out...
o_rod
I've been having timing issues and I've had to take off the weights way too many times and when I take those little e clips off they go flying, it never fails. I tried home depot and all they have here is 3/16, which are too big and 1/8, which are too small. Maybe the stud is worn if those work for you... I ended up getting another distributor off a buddy and am going to take the parts off it and see how it goes... I enjoy tuning but this whole ordeal makes me want to lock my timing and forget about it!
wallaby
... when I take those little e clips off they go flying, it never fails. That's why the generic term for those is "jesus" clips.
