Thinking about upgrading the stock gm front discs n rear drums to a set of c5 corvette gear, just wondering if anyone else has done this and if so what hardware, brackets etc were needed for the conversion and whats the smallest rim size for the swap. Also id prefer not to go to kore3 or whatever its called for cost reasoning. cheers in advance.

You must have the C5 gear at a pretty reasonable cost already. My question is why? With the upgrades to suspension & brakes available  for the Montes ......put something in that already fits.

I started out with Nothing........I still have most of it!

Because its a cheap upgrade and big brakes, i would prefer to fit in a 17" rim tho max. What would you recommend? Cheerd

The C5 uses 18" rear rims and 17" front rims...but I know a 17" rim fits on the back without interference to the brakes because I have tried it on my C5 Corvette. I was messing around with it trying the 18" on the front to see how it looked and had to put the 17" on the back just so I could lower it and get a good look at it. So I know they cleared the brakes...and if remember correctly guys would put 17" slicks on the back at the track, one reason is it is more available and second it increased their rear gear a bit if they kept the diameter of the tire down.
