Soler89
A new issue popped up. I installed new plugs, which I didn't think would help, but it did. I started the car in neutral and my rpms stayed between 1100 and 1500 which is better than what it was before at 200 to 800 rpm. So I decided to try and straighten the car out on my driveway. I put the car in reverse, nothing. Put it in drive, nothing. 1,2, nothing. I hear it engaging, but the car doesn't move. I looked under the hood to see if i can find any more surprises and I found a rubber hose which appears to come from the transmission, capped off in the engine bay. I'll attach pictures. The rubber hose leads to a pre bent line. What do y'all think?
GatorDog72
It's probably the hose that goes to the vacuum modulator. Check the transmission fluid level, it should still go into gear and move, even without the modulator hooked up. Engine needs to be running and transmission in Park. Soler89
I plugged it into a spot under the carb and was finally able to move it. This was my first time ever driving the car. And first time ever driving a FGMC!
Rob Peters
Congrats.  Ryan brought up  good point though.  If this is the first time you have moved the car, under power I would like to know how long the car has been sitting.  If it has been a long time I would change all of the fluids to be safe. rob
Soler89
It's been sitting for at least 3 years. I've changed the oil so far. Transmission fluid looks good. Had to put in coolant.
70montecarlo
I agree with Rob, flush all fluids go with a fresh clean start. Drain any old gas if you can. Congrats on getting it started! Great news. Just make sure everything else functions correctly.
