I bought a generic Dynamat and it works very good. The product I bought was butyl  not the asphalt based stuff. It worked easily and now instead of having the radio at 22 on the volume control we can have it on 9. It also made the floor cooler in the summer thus the AC is not on as much.

Phil,

Unless you just have to have pictures of cars or snazzy script logos on the back of your sound-deadening material, you might want to consider Frost King's Self-Stick Foam/Foil Duct Insulation that you can buy at either Lowes, Menards or Home Depot in 15' rolls of 12" width.  It is .125" thick, has a heavy foil backing and sticks like snot on a handrail.  I've used it on both of my '70s at various times and know it both insulates and deadens sound while staying firmly in place.

Including tax, it will cost you less than $20 for a 15 sq ft roll and can be picked up at any Lowes, Menards or Home Depot store so no shipping cost.  I must admit that I've never tried the fancy, expensive stuff so maybe I don't know what, if anything, I'm missing.

Here's a couple of links if you want to check it out:  Lowes      Home Depot        Menards

Phil the stuff I bought was Fiberglass Evercoat part number 116. I was very pleased with the way it went in and how it has performed. Another good one we sell at the Auto Paint Supplier store I work at is RBL part number 128. Both of these products are generic Dynamat like products. I have a friend who went to Eastwood website and purchased their generic Dyanamat. He was pleased with it also.

I used rockmat that I purchased off of eBay. I covered every inch of the floor, under the rear seat and under the dash and used just over 50 sq feet. On top of that I used 2 rolls of dynapad that had to be glued down with contact adhesive and in the areas that the dynapad didn’t cover I used dynaliner which already had adhesive on the back. It dropped the interior noise level by 20 dBs! The interior is so much quieter at highway speeds.
