ChrisM
Hey everyone, so I am having some trouble fitting the weather stripping on the 70 monte. I've got the doors done, but the "roof rail" I can't seem to figure out, I don't know how the weather stripping attaches to the body. Secondly, the front window felts and the quarter window felts, the new ones I got don't seem to line up properly, and I know there is an inside and outside, but the outer one doesn't seem to line up, screw holes in the door vs to moulding. Next at the quarter Windows towards the back, where the drip rail comes straight down, there is a massive gap between the window where I can see inside the car. Anyone have a close up pictures of these to help me out? Or is there a write up here I have missed? Thanks everyone, and merry Christmas to all! ChrisM
So thank you to Dale,he sent me a video of a how to which is perfect, but in seeing that, I am missing the trim that goes around the window openings to hold the roof rail weather stripping, does anyone have a set kicking around that I can buy???? I'll also post pictures of what else I think I am missing around the quarter Windows, I believe I am missing filler pieces to close the gaps. 71MonteCarloMD
Curious if Dale could send me video too? I am going to work on them during winter.
ChrisM
71montecarlomd I was trying to forward the message to you but I can't figure out how. So hopefully Dale sees this and can help you out. Another question thought here are some pictures from that Video, trying to figure out if I am missing pieces or not. So in the pictures, where the red arrows are, not the chrome trim, but the green, is the lower piece part of the body with a chrome trim attached? The rear piece(upright) is that a trim piece to take up the gap from the window to the outer body? On my car there is a gap between the window and outer body I can almost fit my hand in. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you and merry Christmas
dejh22
Curious if Dale could send me video too? I am going to work on them during winter. I sent the video link to you. Not sure if I'm allowed to post video links on the forum. Just wanted to add the video is a Chevelle, but the concept is the same.

ChrisM
Thank you for the pictures, I have realized I am missing the entire roof rail that holds the weather stripping on both sides so I have to order those pieces after Christmas
71MonteCarloMD
Dale, thanks for sharing video as I am not sure what kind of adhesive to use?
ChrisM
For everyone who is in need on the seals for the outside rear quarter glass, I have found a place that I believe makes them, and does have them in stock, found on eBay, the sellers name on eBay is fusickautomotive. Great response time, soon as I get these pieces in, I will post pictures, but as of now, I think this is a pretty good place. I know Dale and I were talking and he showed me an old thread talking about these, so hopefully these work out for me, so they'll work out for everyone else. Cheers and merry Christmas
dejh22
Dale, thanks for sharing video as I am not sure what kind of adhesive to use? I used silicone. In the video I believe they used 3M weather strip adhesive.
