Q jet and Performer rpm question

Recommended Posts

As a few of you know, I recently acquired some Monte parts. One of them was a qjet. My question is, would the qjet fit on top of the intake? The qjet did come with a spacer that's shaped like the bottom of the carb. (idk what the proper term is for it.)

it depends....your intake maybe for a square bore carb, so you would need an adapter (square bore to a spread bore)

Between the carburetor portion and the thermostat portion of the intake there should be writing cast into the intake; it will either say 'PERFORMER RPM' or 'PERFORMER RPM Q-JET'.  This will tell you if the Q-jet will fit directly or if you need a spacer.  If it's a square bore intake, I would look to sell it and buy an intake made for the Q-jet.
