Got my inner fenders from SS396, and they came with what looks like a powder coating on them already. They say it's "a protective EDP coating" - which, from what I can find online, sounds just like a powder coating.

Has anyone installed their fenders and just left them with the EDP coating, or should I definitely do something else to them?

Check to make sure that the EDP coating doesn't come off when wiping with lacquer thinner.  If it doesn't, you can just scuff and spray with the coating of your choice; you could probably leave it as well if it's the color/sheen that you want.  If it comes off with the thinner, strip it down to metal and put epoxy primer or another DTM primer on it and give it a color coat.

EDP will break down over time.... surface rust will come through... you need to topcoat it with something
