LS5
Well I decided to try something different on the monte. I figure I will try to keep the 15x7's and Wide Oval O's as in my signature picture and go with these for the summer..... Weld Racing Wheels. 17x9.5 on the rears and 17x8's on the front with zero issues at all with rubbing. what's your thoughts guys............? Michael Boyte
Darren, You could put VW hubcaps on that car and it would still be absolutely beautiful !!!!
72MC
Well,.. you ask for my thoughts. They're just ok. I'm an old school five spoke guy tried and true, even on modern cars. I rarely deviate but whatever. The other night, I ask my wife what she thought of some rims I picked out for my 13 Camaro. She literally said, "if they are 5 spoke, I will slap you on the back of your head". Well, you guessed it, I got slapped hard. IMO, rims like you have chosen look great now because maybe it's the fad, but will you like them in 5 years. If you think you will and they are what you want, then buy them and have no regrets. Don't worry about what others think. It's your ride, do what looks right for you. - Dave
MCfan
Beautiful wheels ... very imaginative ... ralleyes by Salvador Dali? Personally, I'm not sure they do much for your gorgeous '71 SS. However, variety is the spice of life ... if you're happy with them, that's all that matters.
LS5
You know it's funny, after working at GM for so long and always working on these cars I always thought oem was the way these were supposed to look. I Guess I am an OEM Freak or a purist as some say. I go to car shows and I see resto mods and the first thing I think of is what would it take to bring this back to factory hahaha instead of seeing it for what it is. A part of me wanted to try aftermarket on at least the wheels and see how it went, but I have the need to put the factory wheels back on already as it just dont look right but then again........... hahaha Darren
Leghome
Darren on my 72 I changed over to Ridler 675 (with the painted silver centers) 8X17 wheels and liked it so well that I sold the Rally Wheels, all five of them and my Goodrich White letter tires. Personally I will probably never go back. But to each his own liking. I like the looks of yours either way.
Mo's70MCs
What's not to like. Personally I think it looks great. Having the ability to change it up a bit is awesome. Now I will say this much my black Monte gets more props with the non OEM rims and tires. Go figure?
Monteman1971
I certainly like them!!!! It's nice to have something to change off too. Gives the car a different look.

Dans '70 Z20
They’re different. That’s always a good thing. Wasn’t sure at first, but kinda like em. Anything billet looks great on our cars to play off all the chrome. Also when running stock brakes you do not want a wheel that shows off your brakes. A rim with less opening between spokes or solid like yours works well. Now you can change the personality in 20 minutes to prevent yourself from getting bored.
