Monteman1971
The real trivia question here is how do you know which one is which!!!! Who knows what the difference is and why!!!!! PS... I know and you don't have to guess which one is which because Aaron already has the correct answer........
MC1of80
Quick and easy answer, the 70 is flat where it meets the fenders and the 71-72 has the "step". Lol good trivia! More!!!
Palmbchmonte
I know there are more differences than that ....but I wasn't for sure if some of the holes were supposed to be there.. I know there's two notches that someone cut in the
MC1of80
There are a few other differences but the quickest and easiest way to identify which years is where they meet the fenders.
Monteman1971
The fender is a dead give away but also that big whole on the left side is to accommodate the charcoal canister that wasn't required on the 1970 unless it was a California emissions car. overdrive
The '70 charcoal canisters are located differently than the '71 and '72. They sit on the top of the frame, and don't connect to the core support. Dan
stangeba
I met a guy who had a 71 with a 70 ft clip on it. He had no idea and was having trouble finding ft end related parts that would fit. I bet there are more that one out there like this after all these years. Bruce
