1970 SS454 built with 71 SS454 Trim??

Thanks, I agree. The car body (cowl tag and VIN) say 1970. The front end, engine, rear taillights and trim all say 1971. The dash also looks like 1971 with the knobs etc but the dome light is 1970. The owner was going to see if he had the info on it being the last Monte but he was an older gent and most likely took the previous owners word on this. When we agreed on a price we shook hands, old school, like my father taught me ( the way all deals should be done). I get the car later this week. I did expose the block number but just quick enough to verify the last 4 digits did not match the VIN. The paint color does match the code on the cowl, green mist. It’s a good solid driver that I can take to any cruise or show. It’s not concours, didn’t pay enough for that. This is my first venture into owning a vintage muscle car. My other vehicles have always been Grand Nationals (still have one). The have always loved these Montes, they have style. I’m already looking for a console for this car to complete the buckets already in it. More pics later this week.

Congrats on the Buy Henry, she looks beautiful.   It is what it is and you are happy, that's all that counts. I think everyone here is happy for you also. Another Monte lover.

If you decide to make it a 1970 again and remove the rear hockey sticks I will be interested in buying them.

Looks like you found a good car and a real SS but someone put the wrong Parts on it.

There were a few 71s that had the rear bumper to body filler or "L" Pieces.

Also some that had the under headlight moldings installed too I believe.
