Guest larrydday
Hi Would anyone know of a good way to remove the clear plastic cover on the gage cluster with out breaking it? I just purchased the gage package and want to clean and polish the clear plastic cover while I have it apart.
1972mc
I recently removed mine for a rebuild. I used a soldering iron and re-melted the plastic posts that protrude from the gauge cluster housing through the clear cover. Chevy was smart and put a double set of posts and on mine they only used one set for the factory installation. It looks great. Check out gauge pics on my cardomain site. http://www.cardomain.com/id/carl1972monte

Ian
When I did mine I drilled out the plastic nubs with a drill bit a little larger than the holes in the plastic face, just enough to get rid of the nubs and get the face off, then when I put it back together I used some small screws to hold it together.
