Britton Hickman
I was thinking of having my1971 grille chrome plated and was wondering if anyone has had any success having one plated. I took my grille into a local plater and he thought he would have a hard time polishing the slats on the grille.
71 MONTE 4 YA
I had my grille redone and they were only able to do the outside and not the center
LostnFound
If you want it to look original, have what Rod had done. Then, spray the slats silver. When it is thoroughly dry, remove the silver paint from the most outer edge of the slats. Then take a small brush and repaint the black in the outside perimeter groove of the whole grill and the verticals behind the slats. Thats my two cents anyway. Jared Richey
Unless you have a Mark Patron or Mike Boyt Monte, having the entire grille chrome is pointless, IMO they look better detailed out and you can save a ton of $$.

footballubet
I don't see anything wrong with having a grille chromed. But I personally would tell them up front not to polish in between the ribs. I would paint that part. I know that would cut down on the cost and give you a really nice grille.
