joseph
what is the correct space between the door to 1/4 panel and door to fender? example 1/8 etc.
monte70car
Since the quarter panel is a fixed item you can get get the spacing as close as you can. Some people like a 1/8" gap others like a 1/4" gap. Best way to get the gap right is to bolt the fender on and adjust until you get the right gap at the quarter panel and the fender. KLASSIK1
GM gap tolerance is .180 -.080 + .120 , the car body , bushings , frame and suspension all twist and move or they would break , if you gap the car to close it may look good when standing still but the first railroad track or pot hole you hit there goes your paint Leo
LostnFound
That's great info to have Leo. Can that be added to the tech archive for future reference? I'm sure it will come in handy for Members in the future. Cheers, Larry
