Monte Story:

Born in South Philly Pa, (Hence my Flyers loyalty!) then moved slightly westward at age 10 to Downingtown Pa, which is about 1 hour southwest of Philadelphia. Ive been a GM person ever since I can remember playing with Hot Wheels cars. That continued to be a passion throughout high school, owning several Chevelle’s, far too many to name or remember, a 69 Cutlass convertible,87 Buick T-Type, plenty of GM trucks, along with far too many vehicles that I was no longer allowed to park at my parents house, due to the leaking of precious fluids, complaints from neighbors, and a habit of laying down some rubber at nearly every stop sign in the area!
After graduating high school, I tried my hand at construction, framing houses and decks, building additions, etc… I finally took a shot at making a living doing what I truly loved, working on cars. I had painted plenty of cars for friends, along with ruining many of my daily drivers while attempting body and paint work in my parents driveway. Within a few short years, I was making a very good living at it, and purchased my first house at age 22. As it turns out, several years later, I met my wife Alli at the bar directly next to my house, where, I might add, I spent a lot of time! Alli was friends with the owner of the bar, and a bartender there. They introduced us, and as they say, we lived happily ever after. We have a daughter, Alaina, who was born December 27, 2003, and added Anthony, and Adriana, twins, who were born on June 19, 2008.
As for my Monte story, basically my car was purchased from a friend of mine, his father-in-law owned the car, along with about a hundred more in various states of decay. He was killed in a car accident, and I promised to bring the car back to a state that he would have been proud of, I think I succeeded! He was also a regular at Carlisle, Maple Grove Raceway, Englishtown Raceway, along with any other car events in the vicinity.
I found the FGMCC by accident really, while surfing the web for parts. I started an account the night I found it, and lurked around for a while before posting my first post, which I don’t even remember what it was about, most likely I just snuck in under the radar. There has been no turning back! I spent countless hours on the phone early on with some great members, I remember Sam Michaels (Sam Bones) being the first I spoke to on the phone, followed not long after by Scott Stephens (Footballubet) It wasn’t long before I was very glad we were all on the same phone network!
I am amazed at how willing the members of the FGMCC are to help answer questions, lend a hand while working on your car, or just talk to you when you feel like talking. This is truly a club like no other, and Im proud to be a member, and to help out wherever I can.
