255/60-15 on back, 225/70-15 on the front.
15x7 chrome rally on front. I think they are 4 in, 3 out.
15x8 chrome rally on back. I think they are 4 in/4 out.
I have stock center caps on it now. I do have quite a few different sets of centers, including 2 and 3 way spinners, low profile disc brake (and non-disc brake) centers, police centers, etc etc. I just like to change up the look on the rallys once in a while.

Here is a longways side shot of the car

I have a set of 15x8 1978 Corvette pace car rims I purchased a while back. I have gone through the sanding and polishing process and they turned out half decent. Not quite as nice as the chrome, but highly polished aluminum. They came with a set of BFG TA's that are 245/60-15 all the way around. I know this size will work, and all 4 rims are 4 in/4 out. I also bought a set of center caps with blanks where the Corvette emblems should be, and I picked up a set of Monte Carlo center cap emblems from a hub cap place in NJ. I'll add pictures once they are on the car. It should look pretty tough. The wheels and tires were a package deal, and I only wanted the tires. So I figured I'd try my hand at polishing aluminum. If it looks stupid, I'll sell the rims. There are plenty of Corvette guys out there that will pick them up. Stay tuned on that.

I looked thru all seven pages and didn't see this combo. Can anyone tell me if I will have any issues.
I want to run some American Racing Outlaw rims, 15x8 with 3-3/8" backspace on front and rear. Front tires are to be BFG 235/60-15 and rears BFG 255/60-15.
I have a '71 SS454, F41 suspension, big block with A/C. Original disc & drum brakes and I won't entertain wheel well lip trimming.
I will be putting in new OEM type front & rear coil springs this winter as my existing are a bit spongy. All shocks and control arms (F&R) have been re-bushed recently so suspension is pretty tight.
I raise the issue because I have these rims on hand, I really like the classic muscle look of these rims and I'm due for some new tires on the SS anyway. If these rims won't work, I'll stick with my 7" rallys and 235's all around.
Any thoughts?
Scott

You'd be able to run those tires on the stock rallys, and could even go 255s all the way around. That's what I did, and I didn't have to make any changes to the car at all. Just a thought, but the 8 inch wide wheels might be a bit too wide for the 235s, and those are going to be about an inch shorter than the 255s.

I'm not too sure about the backspacing though... Discount Tire (where I work) measures offset rather than backspacing to see what'll fit. Hope that helped!

Yaaa, I said I would post my opinions & results here with my set up after putting some miles on her, thanks for bringing this post up Malyc.

Im running 17 x 8 Rocket Racing Booster's with 4.5" backspacing, mounted with 255/50 17 Nitto 555's at all four corners. No rubbing at all, very nice smooth ride, exceptional handling and my WEAK A$$ 350 can barely turn over these sticky monsters. Well, maybe not that bad, but theres no way Im going to dig a hole to china with this rubber...

Completely stock worn out all original springs with booo cooo miles on them, 1 inch spacer (beneath coil) in rear
