2012 Northwest Mini-Meet

This event draws 800 cars parked along the sandy beach of Okanagan Lake. The event includes shows, winery cruise, parade, live entertainment, car auction, vendors and more. We had 13 Montes at a mini meet at this event in 2008 and we expect 15 or more this year from Washington, Oregon, BC and Alberta. This is a very fun weekend event.

Weekend Schedule

Friday:
Morning - Winery tour through Summerland visiting 7 wineries
Afternoon - Car parade down Main Street
Evening - Car show, live entertainment and vendors

Saturday:
All day - Car show, live entertainment and vendors
All day - Classic car auction

Sunday:
Morning - Car show in the morning and event awards ceremony
Afternoon - BBQ at Aaron's house

Of course we will have the usual bench racing sessions in the hotel parking lot in the evenings. To take part in all the meet activities, it's best to arrive Thursday night and leave Monday morning where possible. More details regarding the weekend events posted here:

Registration is $35 before June 1 and $40 after May 31. Do not get the extra VIP or dinner tickets.

Hotel #1 - NOW FULL THAT WEEKEND
The Rosedale Motel

This hotel is less than 15 minutes from the show. Club members have stayed there in the past on a few occasions and have had no complaints. It is also a few blocks away from Aaron's house.
Since this is a popular weekend, the hotel said the cancellation policy is 2 months! Kind of crazy but it is a big weekend in this area.

Hotel #2
Summerland Motel

This hotel is about a 10 minute drive from the show and 5 minute drive from hotel #1 above. It's a busy weekend in this area, book early if possible.

Camping
For those who want to camp, there is a campground just down the road from the hotel.

I suspect the campground will fill up that weekend also so book early if possible.

NOTE: This is not the official Western Meet with FGMCC awards and such. This is simply a fun get together of first gen Monte owners. I encourage everyone to try to attend the FGMCC official Western Meet in Carson City if possible. For those who cannot make the Western Meet, this mini-meet is a nice option (some will even do both meets).

if I can go I would like to go Ogopogo fishing. Is there a limit on how many Ogopogo you can catch? Sounds like fun.

Maybe I can make it this year. Doesn't appear that the Monte is going anywhere, so the plans will start again.

I know Chris. Seems to never fail. But if you don't plan you never go anywhere. I do have my EDL now so I'm part ready for Penticton. I've missed Langeley. I missed Penticton last year. I'm going to try to do a better job in 2012. Just renewed and you guys are stuck with my crazyness for another year. LOL

I'm in, along with about 4 other Alberta members.

Is that the correct plural of Ogopogo?

Count me in for now. I think I'll take the North Cascades Hwy (er the South Cascades Hwy to my Canadian friends ) which I haven't done in maybe 2 decades. Some nice scenery if I remember.

That was the year we had 13 first gen Montes. That appears to be Bill's green 71 Monte behind them earlier in the video. Later you can see a whole row of the Montes starting with Pat's yellow 71 and then Art's red 70.

Those "Blues Brothers" are not the greatest singers but are fun to watch. It's actually a husband and wife that do the shows. They also have a white Chicago cop car that follows them around as well.
