I want to thank you for your wonderful assist with my no Dash Light issue. Here is the posted thanks in the Personal messages:
I found the issue!!!!!!!!! The ground wires on the back of the cluster housing! They have the eyelet ends on the wires. Well, the part of the eyelet that where the wire is crimped was on the circuit board. Which was causing it to ground out. The issue now is that the lights are so dim.....Like before the new circuit board. I guess I am naive in thinking the new circuit board would brighten the lights. Guess not..... I should've paid the extra money for the LEDs.... Next year. Thanks for your help!!!!

Now we have another solution in our box of knowledge!!!!!

might need a new headlight switch,
seems that the coil on the dimmers (rheostat) never last too long.

Dave, you may be correct but then we open a whole new can or worms finding the correct one!

Do they dim or get any dimmer / brighter when the H/L switch is rotated? Perhaps the wire coil is corroded and it needs a gentle but fast CW then CCW rotation a few dozen times to rub off the corrosion. If it won't rotate freely it could be all messed up. Turning it all the way ?? (don't remember CC or CCW) should turn on the dome light.

if you try #168 bulbs...they will be a smidge brighter, LED's are still the way to go unless you are staying completely stock

I bought a new Head light switch from all this trouble shooting. The lights work like they always have (Dash lights that is). I will be installing LEDs next winter.....I am ready to take this beast out on the road and enjoy it!!!! 60s this week. Perfect for the Monte to get some fresh air!!!!!
