  7. Hey Roger, dumb question…do you know if the motor is original to your car? Means a lot if you plan on using the link Aaron provided to (possibly) make that determination. Good luck!
  8. Here’s some decoding pages. Note that the last 6 digits of your VIN are not going to match anything on the body tag. https://www.firstgenmc.com/forums/index.php?/resources/decodingbodytag/ https://www.firstgenmc.com/forums/index.php?/resources/decodingengine/
  9. How do we decipher our cowl tags. I've had my Monte for 4 and 1/2 yrs. I've done some small projects on the car. I noticed when I bought the car that the cowl tag and vin # are different. Also the number on the front of engine block has been milled off except for an "H" and it looks to possibly be last letter.LOOKING FOR HELP. THANK YOU.
  10. Thx Scott, I told him we should do that but he is very impatient, doesn't want to wait. I will tell him again. Even if he gets them to put on the buckets that he is taking out.
  11. Yesterday
  12. Hey Willie.... Sorry about the derailed conversation. From what I've seen, the tracks look similar, and being a massed produced part for all G.M.'s, I'd think they'd interchange. It's the seat width that would determine location. Here's a couple pics that might help... the first is the Impala. Hope it helps. Scott.
  13. I guess we're close.... You can see them from here. Still pretty flat, though. That's what makes the window system work..... Those long, flat stretches of open highway.
  14. Scott and Steve, it is a factory 4 speed with a bench seat from factory. I haven't seen it yet as this friend of mine sells them like we change our underwear. The PO had switched the bench to buckets because it looks sportier. My friend wants to change it back. My friend said the bucket seat tracks will fit so he is using them. I told him when he takes the ones off the bench seat that are shot bring them to me so i can match them up to ours and then we will know if they will fit for the future. He bought a 72 Monte once, called me to tell me he bought it, 2 weeks later i called him to go see it and he already sold it. Crazy Thanks for the help guys!!!
  15. That's because your in the mountains, we get pretty warm on the praries.
  16. When I bought my 70 SS it had a mini starter (not sure what make) horrible noise, sounded like wrong gears. Replaced it with a new (took 3 to get one that worked) Sounds great now, those were new delco not remains.
  17. Who needs A/C when you have windows up here ??
  18. I'm going to assume it wasn't a console shift.......
  19. Parenting was a whole different ballgame back then..... And strangely enough, we did survive. LOL
  20. Once they find out you're OK then it becomes hilarious.
  21. I've had those experiences.... LOL When I was about 3 years old, I discovered my uncle's uninsulated cutting pliers...... So while sitting on a floor vent, I proceeded to cut the cord to his radio. They found me on the other side of the room, a** smoking..... Guess it was pretty funny at the time....
  22. As the Supreme ruler of all Universe Space and Time, is there anything you can do to help lower gas prices ???? Or has someone else got the job of ruling matter and energy ????
  23. Tracey, that's quite a collection of cars you have there. You should think about full membership and join up in Carlisle in June. Hopefully you like what you see here.
