  1. Past hour
  2. I believe we are until Wednesday!!! It's back on
  3. Got ours last night. I think we’re rain free until the middle of next week.
  4. Wow, Gene Winfield going strong at 96. I love it !!! Being around custom cars, car shows and automotive events keeps him young. He has been customizing cars since the mid 60’s. Come meet this customization auto legend at the Syracuse Nationals !!!
  5. Today
  6. I initially had put KYB shocks on my Monte (72 Custom which includes the larger front sway bar that the F41 suspension offered). Car seemed to be a little soft with those shocks on it, especially on the highway. I decided to try the Bilstein's after that. As mentioned, they cost more, but do seem to ride better and provide more control. Only thing I did was remove the stickers, paint them, then re-apply the trimmed down stickers. I painted the blue boot with black vinyl dye as well. https://www.firstgenmc.com/forums/index.php?/topic/19368-new-guy-here/page/37/#comment-255389
  7. Eurythmics . Here comes the rain again!!!!!!!
  8. What made you choose the Bilsteins if I may ask?
  9. Thanks for joining in on the fun, it was nice talking to you earlier...you should put your car on the Auto Train and bring it too rather than flying. rob
  10. Awesome! Now I'll recognize you right away in Carlisle!
  11. Gene Winfield will be a guest again and giving out his award. I had no idea he was 96 and still going strong.
  12. It will be great to meet you and all the other fine people in the club.
  13. Remove the shocks and see how it sits. You’re probably looking at springs also. After some member input (thanks Joe) I’m ordering a set of Bilsteins. They are on the high side of the price scale though. About $390 for 4 on Amazon + tax. There are others for 1/2 the price.
  14. The car looks good. Under hood is a little crusty but probably not a big deal to clean up. Hopefully more photos are available because it’s hard to bid on something with such limited photos. Can’t have too many photos.
  15. So I have changed my '72 from a stock iron 454 to everything being aluminum except the block. My car sits up too high in the front now. So I think I should do away with the spring assisted shocks that were there. I have never purchased front shocks. Seems like an important choice. I live in the mountains and do still need a stiff ride as it's curvy everywhere I go. Does anyone have a recommendation?
  16. Well, we now know who is Member Number 75 but not just number 75..... We now have 76 members registered with me to attend. April 7, update...Member Kevin Low notified me he is coming to the Eastern Meet. He will be doing a room share with a member who already has a room. Since Kevin is sharing a room, we stlll have 1 room left in the club block of rooms at the Fairfield Inn and Suites. This brings the total number of members registered with me to a whopping 79 members. NEW UPDATE, UPDATE, UPDATE - April 19, update... Member John Herbert from Clearwater, FL has now registered with me. John will be flying into Carlisle. If I am not mistaken, John may have reserved the last room in our block at the host hotel. Don't worry if you would like to come but need a room. The Host Hotel is currently SOLD OUT but, I do have a backup hotel under contract for 15 rooms. Also I am working with the host hotel general Manager and they have told me if they get any cancellations outside of our block of rooms and we have someone who needs a room they will offer that cancelled room me for our group. 18. Can this be possible? We are now in the 50's with our countdown hitting 59 days and a wake-up until our first members will arrive in Carlisle for our Eastern Meet. Club Pre-Registration is still open. I think Carlisle Pre-registration will be shutting down in 2-3 weeks. rob
