My 71 SS has an original map light. The wire runs from the map light across the driver's side in the molding at the top of the window down the A pillar and to the fuse block where the dome lights and under dash light plug in it has a small orange jumper that he gray dome light wire connects to. It is the blue plug you see in photo. Hope this helps
