Thank you. Yes, it was built in Oshawa on Jan.11/71. My printout from GM says that they built 65 SS models out of that plant and just six black ones.1 point

My guess is in a 71 Monte Carlo SS more came with buckets than didn't.. Reason I say that is a lot of these Monte Carlos were loaded with options.1 point

Thanks for the input guys. Yes Dennis, I was aware of that location and it turns out that is where this motor is stamped...it is a numbers matching car. I just bought it YAY!!!
