  1. I just took ownership of the 72’ that my dad has had for over 30 years. It’s been a bit neglected so I’m just starting the restoration on it. This will be a project that I’ll work on with both my teenage boys. I hope to pass it down to them one day.

  2. Drum brakes have an adjuster that operates when you hit the brakes while backing up. They're left/right specific. If you mixed them up, every time you step on the brakes, they'll adjust tighter. When I used to do drum brakes, I pulled both drums but did one side completely before disassembling the other.

  3. I wanted to clear up some things for new people here. This is directed to those who are not yet board or dues paying members as yet. Joining the club is very easy but there are basically several steps. REGISTERING TO POST ON THE CLUB WEBSITE: Anyone can come onto the boards and read posts in many areas of the boards here. If this is you but you would like to start responding to posts your would need to "Sign Up". You would go here to do that: https://www.firstgenmc.com/forums/index.php?/register/ and once you have filled out all of the required information such as Legal Name, Location, and Occupation properly and then you will need to respond to an email and after that one of our administrators will approve your access to post. When that has happened you will be a "Board Member" but not an actual "Club Member". ***** With this in mind, the FGMCC is a Car Club, not just a website. Initially, you'll be put into a 'New Member' group, where we encourage you to enjoy the site's information with near full access. After 30 days, this should be enough time to appreciate the wealth of information & benefits of this group, and join as a 'Dues-paying' member. The minimal cost of the dues help to keep the website and associated club costs continued. If you decide otherwise, you'll automatically be put into a 'Non Dues-paying' group with more limited access and restrictions. We can guarantee you that this is the BEST group of people in the world, solely dedicated to the First Generation Monte Carlos. You will not find a better group of like minded individuals that will share helpful, accurate information and go out of their way to provide that. ******* BECOMING A DUES PAYING MEMBER: If you decide you would like to become a dues paying member there will be a couple extra steps. Please copy the below information and email it to Rob Peters at rob29ford@aol.com Member Email: Member First Name: Member Last Name: Member Street Number and Name: Member City: Member State: Member Zip Code: Member Country: Member Phone Number: Year Of Your Monte: Engine: Transmission: Exterior Color: Interior Color: Vinyl Top Yes/No: Vinyl Top Color: Club Website Screen Name: Please keep in mind there is some information that is REQUIRED in these fields and if it is not completed properly your access will not be accepted. If it appears any of the information is false no access will be granted. PAYING OR RENEWING CLUB DUES: The last step in becoming a dues paying member (or renew your dues) is to actually pay your membership. There are a couple ways of paying your dues. The first is by paypal paying to the club paypal account which is firstgenmonte@outlook.com and submit your $25.00 Dues Payment and indicating it is for dues payment. The second way of paying your club dues is by sending a Check or Money Order. The check or money order would be made out to FGMCC for $25.00 and mail it to FGMCC PO BOX 8032 PITTSBURGH, PA 15216. Once your dues have been received a club administrator would assign you a badge that looks like this: and this will grant you access to areas of the boards that only dues paying members have access to. If your expanded access and dues paying member badge does not show up please send a PM or email to Rob Peters at rob29ford@aol.com Thanks rob
