  1. So I put the last parts on my car today, it’s mechanically complete now, I have a lot of tweaking to do, but from a bare frame 3 years ago to now, wow I can’t believe it

  2. Hey gang. Lol just a brief update. Have been doing alot of little stuff on the. "barn find" Got all the exterior lights working. R/r both headlights, misc bulbs and l/f turnsignal harness , reverse light housings all with good used stuff that was in stock. Got the horn working with some steering wheel/column parts and a good used horn. In stock parts. Lol Had the original numbers matching/correct carb rebuilt and installed it along with a new divorced choke coil and cover. Also installed a new nos a/c throttle solinoid. Purrs like a kitten, even though it's a 402. Purrs like a cat just doesn't sound right. Lolol Bolted the grille on with the correct bolts and hardware I purchased from Vic at East Coast Bolts. I know, your saying, WHAT? He doesn't have them in stock!?! Well I do, a couple of sets BUT I couldn't find them. Lol now that it's done I will. Lololol

  3. Sometimes I think I spend more time looking for stuff that I know is around here somewhere, than just buying it again (which I've also done). And then going back to the same exact spots like 'rainman', hoping for different results. I usually say, "It's not lost, it's just in the last place I left it". My success rate is about 90% though...usually.

  5. After the floor install, took it off the rotisserie. Then promptly cut it up and made a cart to set the body on. Cut the bracing out. Now going to start measuring to cut out the toe panel on the drivers side. Bought a patch panel for it. At least it looks more like a car with a floor in it. I'm trying to keep plugging away.

  6. Yea, they are, fuel pressure and the engine temperature gauges, I put 3 on the console, and the fuel had to be outside the passenger compartment so I just added in the temperature gauge because I think it is more accurate than the stock one.

  7. Received the front speakers the other day from RetroSound (via Amazon). Pretty tight fit on the driver side, even with the smaller neodymium magnet, but made it work with the Dakota dash. Sanded the oil pressure back housing a little, but no big deal. Won't know if it affects the oil pressure gauge when in use until I power it up. I think some people mentioned it would affect the factory one in that spot because of the magnets? Going to pop the rear speakers & head unit in soon and power it up to see how they sound. Probably like crap with no windows, interior, etc, but at least it'll give an idea if the little speakers are at least an acceptable sound quality. I may make a small brace to attach the back corners to the dash , but used pretty decent sheet metal to make the brackets in the first place.

  8. Tommy, looks like you had a little bit of a helper that we can see in the second picture laying next to the two clamps. rob

  9. Busy as usual, managed to get a few things done though. Wanted to get the backdrive linkage working to lock the shifter when the car is off. Not an easy task with the different transmission due to the location of the shift shaft between the T-400 & 4L85. Managed to make something from the existing linkage by straightening up the hook end, adding a crank lever, & installing a 7/16" I.D. oilite bushing in an adapter plate I made out of aluminum for it to rotate. A couple of heim joints I had 'in stock' (as Tom would say), and threaded a piece of rod to join them. Seems to work fine for the intended purpose. Original backdrive rod: Parts to make it work:
