  2. Kent Board here and lookin forward to meeting Monte owners like myself. I bought my 1970 a year ago in North Carolina and love it! The story behind this adventure starts with 20 mile drive but had to turn around due to the power steering gone out on my Dodge 2500. A quick switch to my F250 ( time is now midnight ) and on the road again. 5 hrs later I arrive ; purchase car only to find out it is wider than my trailer. My wife has to drive truck and trailer and I drive the Monte back to Ky with no insurance and expired tags. 2 pm I finally arrive home with car.

  3. A tip: I transfer remaining of POR15 to a plastic container which lasted longer than keeping them in the original metal can which will give anyone hard time reopening it.

  4. Got up early yesterday am to try and beat the rain, was 98% successful lol. Got the drive shaft loop installed and the new drag radials put on. My buddy (who loaned me the rear wheels) told me last night he had the wheels for the front "in stock" if I was interested, of course I am so it'll be another trip to the tire store to swap out the fronts. I'll reverse the white lettering so it all looks the same. Joe, i'll let you know how small the front tires look when i'm done 🤣 You can please disregard my lime green post it note, got so much going on had to make a check list. At least the to do list on the garage door is getting smaller. Hope to get to test and tune friday to make a few passes, mother nature has not been smiling at me the last few visits to the track.

  6. Drove it around a bit today to insurance agent for pictures so they can put it under classic policy. Also stopped at paint store to get a Tan mix for the stainless vinyl top trim. Then drove it to Buffalo to get an actual appraisal for a higher value than insurance would normally allow, should get that value in a few days. In all, put about 55 miles on the car today without any problems. Added up the labor since I picked it up last January, totaled about 1403 hours. Looking back, that's a lot of couch time I'll never get back 😒

  10. The cruising days are becoming more limited this fall. It was nice yesterday so I left work early to take the Monte out for a cruise. It’s that time when the flowers are still blooming but the trees are starting to turn fall colours.

  11. Got the steering and suspension done last weekend. This weekend I’m taking a look at the interior. Just pulled the front carpet to look at the driver’s floor. I can’t believe how good this car is!!!
