PS - I just realized the literature cited by Paul has an additional ten 1970 SS’s unclaimed (3,833). Happy hunting, gentlemen!!! 😂1 point

Thanks Aaron! Given the recent discussion about 454 stampings, maybe you should add that 1970 454 Monte blocks were stamped "CRN" and "CPD" for5 1971. The 1970 SS cars when ordered with wheel covers had black painted 7" rally wheels under the covers.1 point

Been a while since I did much to the car, took some time off. After the recent discussion about locks and trunk cylinders, I ordered a power trunk latch kit from Year One. I have to say, they put a pretty decent little package together with the latch, wiring, connectors, & even some very good instruction sheets. Didn't use their switch, used one I had 'in stock' (though it's a later model yellow button). Had to make a small harness with relay to interface with the alarm/keyless entry, plus also work with the glovebox mounted switch. Works nice, no drama except for tearing the kick panel and back seat out again to run the wire. Also got the 4 wheel disc setup delivered today from Baer, so that means more work in the near future, plus taking the driver side header off again to change the distribution valve to a 4 wheel disc setup. More pics as that job progresses. Got an email from Legendary Interiors a couple of months ago looking for shots of their stuff in a car. Figured why not. Turns out they put one of the pics of my seats on their 2021 catalog cover. Wonder if I get a future discount or residuals, lol.1 point

Ah, so it will replace one of the existing clock bulbs in the cluster. Someone has clearly been in this dash before, based on some of the things I'm finding. I can't thank you enough for this information. I've been taking a lot of pictures and will document a lot of the things I've done when I have it all back together and working, probably a week or two at most. Thanks again @jft69z!!1 point

Interesting point, since i'm not "stock / original" detail oriented I never paid attention to the knobs. Mine are black.1 point

Hi, Ron here, I am in Wa. Just south of Seattle. I have had my Monte (ss454) since 1978 when I was a Jr. In high school. We have been through a lot together and now she is in need of restoration and has been parked (garaged) for almost 30 yrs. It is complete with about 115000 miles, but needs bodywork and interior which I hope to complete some day. However lately inhage been thinking of putting her up for sale just not sure what to value her for or if that is what i really want to do??? Just thougt I would throw this out there and see what the interest is1 point

Hey Guys, I'am Eric (32 years old) from Germany and this is my 1972 Monte Carlo which came long way from South Carolina across the pond at the end of the last year. After a '83 G20 and a '81 Silverado it was my wish to get a big Coupé from 60s or 70s. Finaly I found this beautiful Monte. The car has just one previous owner in the U.S., is technicaly in very good (but not perfect) condition, has a freshly regenerated 350cui Small Block and drives like a new car. In the next time I want to improve it in details step by step (reconditioning chrome parts, improve paint condition, mounting wider tires, etc). I'm glad to came across this forum. Looking forward to keep in contact with you and get some tips and ideas.1 point

Sorry for your loss. I have a 13 year old rescue that’s starting to show his age. I hate to think about it, but I know the day is coming. 😢0 points
