  1. The black one is black phospate coated. I'm changing to the gold iridite coated tank and a new old stock compressor tomorrow. I recently had it recoated in California. I don't believe the gold cadmium plating is still available. My brake booster was recoated the same way, and at the same place a few years ago, so the 2 should match. Dan

  3. Yea its a sad state of affairs, but becoming a frequent issue for various reasons. Englishtown in NJ shut down in 2018, that track was probably around before I was born, maybe not by a year or two 🤣 My old local track (Hollywood Fl) was shut down in 1992 because they built condos/homes on the property adjacent to the track and the new residents sat in city council meetings and complained about the noise. Go figure. There is a current conversation (track to remain nameless) where residents are complaining about the noise and asking the track to require mufflers on the cars. And some racers are fighting it, well learn from history people, race with mufflers or loose the track all together. So after my walk down memory lane heres my current tirade. My current local track, Palm Beach, which is also the home office location of the IHRA can't seem to find their butt with both hands. Our last race weekend was a double points race day, 2 points races in the same day. Pretty good turnout/car count and not a concession stand open. Not that I would eat the food but still, really? On T&T nights there are so many street cars you may get 3 passes in a real race car (slicks or drag radials) So much so they have 1 night a month for T&T slicks/drag radials only. Hello people, marketing opportunity to get the street racers there on race days. On the DONK race nights they have to close the gates, max capacity cars/spectators.......marketing. But on the other hand you see the million dollar weekend races, third place walks away with 250k, and others with class racers going for as little as 20K. Racers are driving from everywhere for those purses. So now i'll get off my soapbox, obviously a hot spot for me 🤣 I can't intelligently comment on Milans closing or the public reason but I know there are a ton of racers across the country wanting to race.

  4. He scores! Been looking for a decent set of A body seat cores for my 70 Buick convertible for over a year. It was always a grand for junk and $700 a set for garbage. These popped up very randomly on Offerup while I was looking for firing cannons. Yeah, I collect those. Guy was about an hour north and said he still had them. Left the shop at 10, back at one yesterday. And the driver seat is power, and it works.

  5. I bought a fuel line from inline and it wasn't close. They didn't want to refund me but finally did. I bought one from the parts place and it was a perfect fit

  6. Well so much for spring, it snowed here last night and today and yes they put more salt down on the roads. Now we wait a couple more weeks or so to get rid of it. Heard other areas got it too. Let's wait a little longer.

  7. I use a hose and Simple Green with a combination of brushes. I have some metal brushes as well as plastic brushes. I always keep old tooth brushes too to access those hard to reach areas. I just cleaned and painted my 70 engine in the car. The engine has never been out of the car. 1/2 day of disassembly, a couple days of cleaning, a few hours of masking and about 20 minutes of painting... and a very sore back! Here’s a photo during cleaning. I have an old set of valve covers I use during cleaning and painting. I paint the valve covers separately.

  9. Yes. Personally, don't like rally stripes on the Monte Carlo. The chevelle SS and Camaro Z/28, yes, love the stripes on them.

I hope you all will bear with me as this (these) project moves along, You guys have probably forgotten more than I presently know. I will have and already have had questions about radiators and engine stamping. More to come and Thanks for the welcome.

  11. I didn't but we did had a Fisher body plant here in Syracuse and I used to work with a couple guys that did work there. One of them told me one time he switched jobs while they were making the grills for our cars because lifting them all day long was a pain because they are so heavy. Not sure what else they made there but they definitely made the grills. The plant is long gone now.

  13. I found one on eBay that I spruced up. I could only tell it was cadmium when I dissembled it. I redid it in black.
