  2. THE LOCATION OF THE MEET IS NO LONGER IN MONTANA. IT HAS BEEN CHANGED DUE TO BORDER RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED BEYOND OUR CONTROL. THERE WILL BE ANOTHER POST WITH INFORMATION REGARDING THE NEW LOCATION. The US government extended the land border closure with Canada to August 21st. Without the large number of members attending from Canada the meet in Montana would have very few members causing us to cancel the meet altogether. We moved the meet to a Canadian location in order to make sure we can even have a Western Meet this year. 17th Annual Western Meet Bigfork, Montana September 2-5, 2021 The 2021 Western Meet will be returning to Montana. The town of Bigfork is located next to Flathead Lake and offers some great scenery in the area. We expect over 30 members from 15 states and provinces. We will update the web site and message forum periodically as information comes available. If you have any questions regarding this meet, please contact me. Weekend Schedule Thursday: Free day to do sightseeing (Glacier National Park is highly recommended), clean up your car, relax by the pool and interact with fellow members. It is essentially our own car show in the hotel parking lot that day. Friday: Scenic cruise (10am-3pm) Saturday: Cruise around Flathead Lake (10am-3pm) Sunday: Car show at the Timbers (all day) Sunday evening: FGMCC awards banquet and door prize draws (6pm-8pm) And of course, every night is a party at the Timbers Motel! Event registration No car show registration required. You simply need to be a dues paying FGMCC member. Hotel info Click Here for hotel booking information We will have activities from Friday morning (September 3rd) through Sunday night (September 5th). You can decide on how much of the weekend to participate in. Most members will arrive by Wednesday evening and leave on Monday morning but some members will come for a shorter visit. Club members must inform me if you are planning on attending the meet. This will be important for planning the activities for the weekend. You must be a dues paying FGMCC member to participate in the meet activities. Timbers Motel 2019 Western Meet Video This gives you an idea of what a typical meet weekend is like

  5. I just completed a 4 wheel disc conversion using Baer brake parts. I researched a few different brands before settling on them. Like Kevin said, you'll need to get a master that is designed for 4 wheel discs, as well as a new distribution valve for 4 wheel disc. I installed an adjustable proportioning valve in the rear circuit, but probably didn't need it. Won't know until I really get the chance to bed the brake pads in properly and do a bunch of real hard stops, to the point of wheel lock-up. (they want a couple hundred miles of driving to get thru the rotor zinc coating before brake bedding procedure) Regarding master cylinder bore size, 1 1/8" is the stock 2 W disc size. Baer recommends going smaller depending on your available vacuum & system. I went with a 1" bore m/c from 'the right stuff', purchased from Summit. I don't have a lot of miles on the car since the conversion, but the initial pedal feel, travel, and performance of the system is a huge improvement over the stock brakes. I almost went with the 15/16" bore m/c, but figured since I also have a vacuum pump, I would go conservative with the 1" and drop down if needed. It doesn't appear to be needed. If you need part numbers, let me know & I'll find them.

  6. You need a new master and prop. Valve. I suggest one from a 80 trans am if your looking for easy stock stuff with rear disc brakes with at least a 1" bore but would suggest an 1 1/8" bore. You will also need a prop. Valve for disc/disc brakes that has a port for the front and one for the rear. Disc brake require a lot more fluid pressure and flow than drums. Good luck

  8. I loved the 400 I had in my 71 caprice, loved it so much I still have it on a stand in the garage. I have had this on the stand for over 25 years waiting for the right project. Thought about it for the monte but gonna stick with the 350. It'll find a home some day.
