  1. The two different style gasket or seal base of the mirror caused the most stress for me. The wrong one was already on the mirror and the correct one was somewhere in the box. Some people, I have heard, never got two, just one correct one. Inside / under the top of the door skin where the studs go through, waiting for the nuts, MAY already have an area where the holes should be drilled. If you can, look closely to see. If I remember correctly, my holes may have been off slightly but it all worked well. It is a tight confined space and my fat fingers were a disadvantage trying to start the nuts, that were metric, I think. Enjoy!

  3. Thanks Wilie! I used DuPont Corlar 26P (later renamed Axalta Corlar 2.8 HG-D) epoxy in the other building. Very good stuff too, durable in that it stands up to brake fluid, spinning grinders, solvents, etc. It just takes much longer to cure before driving on it, and it still leaves tire imprints (stains?) occasionally if you park in one spot for lengthy periods. I stamped up a bunch of aluminum plates to put under the tires, but it's still annoying. The paint supplier suggested 3 people, a mixer, a squeegeer (sp?), and a roller. I told him the 3 people will probably be me, myself, & I. 😁

  5. Looks like an A/C car. I had to change one in my 2nd '72 Custom in a parking lot at an Air Force base in Denver years ago. Wasn't fun. The HVAC box was tough to get all the bolts out, same with the blower motor etc. The HVAC box under the dash had to come out, it was just a treasure hunt to get all the fasteners that held it in. No service manual, etc. When I had this last '72 apart, it was much easier to see where everything was located and why it fought me years ago. Since you have the fender & wheelhouse off, that's most of the fight right there. The rest of it should come out pretty easy, without removing the dash. Just remember to disconnect the cables for the air doors, etc. May be a good time to put a new firewall insulation pad in there at this time too, if it needs one.

  6. Hahaha. My whole building was done in 7 working DAYS. Finished grinding the floor down the other day, took about 14.5 hours total. Need to do a few more spots with a hand grinder, just waiting on a diamond wheel to arrive tomorrow to finish it off. More dust and general suck.

  8. I hope all of our fathers out there have a wonderful Father's Day and Weekend. For Fathers Day Weekend it looks like I will be working with our son Patrick and his nephew installing a new ceiling in my grandson's (my son's son) bedroom. We spend a couple weekends ago ripping the old ceiling out. It was damaged due to storm wind damage blowing some shingles off the roof and water getting in. We got the roof repaired this week so it is safe to install the ceiling not worrying about any more leakage. No car show's or car cruises this weekend for me but I will be able to make up for it by heading to Carlisle on Thursday. rob
