  3. Cooler weather here in Tennessee a little cleaning and a short ride up to Monteagle. Stopped at high point this was a hideout for Alcopone from 1925 to1931 he would pick up moonshine going between Chicago and Miami. High inn steak house now.

  6. Well, in the name of automobile preservation and documentation, I believe you know what needs to be done. Grab a ratchet and the socket set and get crackin’!!

  7. I'm partial to gold also and yours is a nice shade to go with a black vinyl top. I've owned two Autumn Gold (code 58) '70s and loved them both. I bought the first one new in '70 with a white vinyl top and sandalwood interior and bought the SS forty-one years later with a black vinyl top and black interior. I don't own either one now but I still admire them. Good luck with your choice.

  8. For what it’s worth, I love the gold. I actually still have the picture from one of the ads of a 70 SS that I had looked into prior to scoring the one I own. The only reason I didn’t get this one was it was already sold when I called to inquire (everything happens for a reason, they say). There’s a lot to be said regarding originality. But at the end of the day it is your baby, do with it what makes you happy.

  10. No, it was not an option. The rockers were all painted satin black that extended at an angle up under the sill plate rob

  11. Trust me, you want those rockers painted black as it sets the car off so much better. I did the black part myself after my 70 was painted.

  13. Tough getting old isn’t it. By the time my car gets in and out of the body shop I won’t remember how to put it together again. I guess that’s what that box labeled ‘extra parts ‘ is for. I’ll figure it out in my sleep(my best thinking is done there). Lol.

  14. Had the final building & electrical inspection last week, no problems at all. Tied the gas line to the main at the house & also ran it into the building (left it all un-hooked until the final insp.) Ordering the heater soon & will put that up when it comes. Got the alarm system all finalized and tied into the existing system. Now that it's fully covered with cameras and sensors, today was 'moving day'. Put a few cars in there so I can paint the man door white in the other shop. Ordered the paint today, will pick it up tomorrow & shoot it next week when I'm off. Put the Home Depot shelves together and they don't strain a bit with all those tires on there, I think they'll work out fine (added more after the picture was taken). Couple more sets to bring out there, but it looks like those shelves won't care. The Camaro is still in the other shop, scoping things out for this winter's activities with that car...

  15. Poly bushings with solid motor mounts. Poly transmission mount and transmission brace ends too. Nice and smooth shifts. Plus will give you a shake from the cam you're running.

  16. Keep it classic color. If it's a custom resto-mod, the colors are endless. I like Jay's (Red) with silver ghost flames in it. You can only see them at night ,With light on car. Also like the black cherry. Looks Black until you get right up on in. Mine is Nassau Blue 1967 Corvette color. Was factory Mulsanne Blue ('72). Really see the lines of the car with Nassau Blue.

  21. No exactly something to the Monte, but something for the Monte. I purchased a plug-n-chug cup holder for my car and have never been satisfied with it because the cup holders are small and only fit a can or water bottle but not an actual cup that I would use. Anyway, I proceeded to deconstruct the PNC and saw how it was made. Then I scoured the internet and finally found cup holder inserts of a suitable size from an online casino supply store. Next I reconstructed the cup holder with the larger cup inserts and had the whole thing reupholstered at a local place. I now have a cup holder for the car that slides into the ashtray and holds my Yeti and S'well insulated cups. This will be very convenient for the upcoming journey to the western meet. Ill grab some pics and post them in a few or if anyone wants a pic of the finished product they can pm me. I admit the upholstery guy could have done a much better jobs of getting the seams straight but the important thing is I can enjoy a frosty or hot beverage while driving. WOOT!
