  1. My 71 has been in storage for between 3 and 4 years in a buddy’s warehouse that’s a little over an hour away. The tires on the car were close to 30 years old, and the two front tires had blown out just sitting there. I have been trying to work it into my schedule to get up there and replace the tires so I can bring her home and give her some much needed attention. My buddy text me week before last and sent pictures. He put a set of tires on the car, put a battery in it, and had it detailed! I was up there yesterday on business and drove her. I’m taking my 86 SS Monte up there Saturday and bringing the 71 home. The first project will be reupholstering the seats and new carpet.

  2. Got mine out today to get it ready for a show tomorrow. Gassed it up and figured I had to run some errands so why not, put about 50 miles on it.

  6. Another thought. Try AMK fastener they will have what you want. Engine kit or separate. You choose. I think they have a 40 dollar minimum order though. Great product

  7. Love the electric tape ( car too by the way). I’m a fan of duct tape and paper towels. I know that you put nos sill plates on, my question is why don’t the nos sill plates have the rivits by the emblem? Yours are not the only ones that I’ve seen this on. If they are on yours I apologize I can’t blow up the pictures and still get them clear.

  9. Update.....last night we trimmed the carpet at the sill plate area, installed the sill plates and the rest of the seat belts. One slip with the utilty knife and I now have an ouchie! LOL Getting close to the finish line except like others have said "they're never truly finished"

  11. Update....all the seats, console, kick plates and seat belts are installed as well as the dimmer switch. I really took my time installing the carpet as I didn't want to make any wrong cuts etc. Next is to trim along the sills and install the NOS sill plates. She's a dusty old girl right now but I'll be doing a complete detail when everything is done.
