Aaron, Looks like 1-1/2" from wheel to start (inner part) of WSW. The WSW is 3/8". From the WSW (outer part) to the start of the tread is 3-1/4".1 point

Only make three cuts and not four so you can pry it open like a flap for access. When you're done, bend the flap closed and weld it shut1 point

Here’s a photo from when I first laid out the carpet. Ideally you want to do this in summer so you can put the carpet out in the sun to soften it.
