  1. Amen brother. Frogs suck. But necessary. Karen and I have had the same conversation. In fact I’d marry her in a New York minute. I will never find anyone else that will tolerate me like she does. And I her for that matter. Lol.

  2. I'm lucky. I still have about 5 years left on my 'lease'. My GF still has about that much time left for her ex to keep paying her alimony & we're certainly not going to let him off the hook for that by getting married. We joked about it not too long ago & I thought I had a year more on the lease than actual was, to which she said it was a year shorter. I replied back something to the tune of, 'at my age, by then I'll probably be dead anyways' 😁. Then comes up the topic of her turning my shop and new building into pet condos or hotels if I'm gone... Truth be told though (and I've said to her), I'd marry her tomorrow if that's what she wanted. She's by far the best thing that's ever happened to me...kissed a lot of frogs before I got together with her.

  3. Congrats.. Trich and I have been together for 25 great years, engaged for 19 years. Both married once and both had a bad divorce(in the eighties) We don't want to get married but we are both in it for the long haul.. There's a old saying that applies to both the man and women "WHY BUY THE COW IF YOUR GETTING THE MILK FOR FREE"

  4. Run. Run like your hair’s on fire, Steve. Just kidding! Congrats! If you know you’ve got a good one who puts up with all your s$&t, then you need to keep her on the payroll. Mine has put up with me since we started dating in ‘93. Why? No clue. But I do know that I wouldn’t be half the man I am without her. She has my back 100% of the time and didn’t bat an eye when I decided to buy myself the ‘70 SS as an early retirement gift. Or when I bought my ZR-1. Or when I, on a whim, came home with a new ‘04 GTO just weeks after our daughter was born (“nice car, good call on the 6-speed… have fun getting the baby seat in there” was the only thing she said). Kinda makes me feel bad when I tell her “if I would’ve killed you when I met you, I would’ve been out of jail by now“. When ya know, ya know. Congrats again.

  8. I know the slots are supposed to point toward the direction of travel, but better safe than sorry. I'm fully capable of putting it on the wrong side regardless.

  9. I know you know. Other people who may be less of a gearhead may not have known though.

  10. Ya I was told to go the the ER. But apparently I'm hard headed and would not go. I wish I would have cut it when it was still on my forehead and the blood would not have flowed down to my eye.

  11. Make sure you get that back glass out safely. Apparently they are hard to come by. At least ones that fit anyway.

  12. Figured I'd keep everything in one place, as long as the moderators don't care. Been working on the Z/28 rear brakes the last couple of days. Had to re-route the brake lines, weld a bracket to the axle tube for the flex lines & shim everything up to center the caliper. Waiting on a rotor centering ring for the other side, Summit shorted one on the last order. Everything all shimmed and lined up though. Otherwise, happy so far. I'll probably start on the front brakes next. I need to replace the control arm bushings first though. These ones only lasted 34 years since the last time I replaced them, before getting a little cracked up. I used OEM rubber type then & will probably use the same this time.

  13. The steering boxes are not keyed differently. With the wheels straight, count how many turns it takes to go to full turn each way. I'm sure you will find more turns one way than the other. The issue is most likely in the tie rod adjustments.

  14. I finally got around to checking the column lower shaft spline for a key and it has an indent that, from what i recall, has a bolt that fits in the indent and pinches a collar type fitting to the lower shaft spline area. It has been a few years since i changed my column shift to a floor shift and that is when i swapped columns and had to monkey with all that stuff. At this point the best i can guess is that the new steering box is keyed differently which makes the steering wheel misaligned when its all put back together. If anyone has a way of moving the entire steering wheel approximately 10 degrees i would love to hear it. I can attach a pic if anyone wants to see what i mean about the lower spline being keyed with a groove that a bolt goes through, let me know.

  15. All fit except tunnel ram and roots style blowers, 4-71,6-71,8-71 etc. I have an Edelbrock preformer RPM air gap, 1" spacer, Holley 950hp and a stock style dual snorkel air cleaner on Big Red with no clearance issues. Although it's close.
